Rustic Wedding in Northern New Mexico
We specialize in affordable DIY destination weddings in a rustic and beautiful Northern New Mexico setting. There is magical energy emanating from the land where Leaping Deer Ranch resides. It is a challenge to fully describe that but after a few days here, you'll agree. It is beautiful here at Leaping Deer Ranch, the views are spectacular, the pastures are expansive, the forest is majestic, and the mountainside is breathtaking (literally, because we are 7,000 feet above sea level). We are a sustainable working ranch. We feature the largest labyrinth in the State which is a popular ceremony site. We have a 1600-square-foot Event Hall that has splendid views of the valley below the ranch house. The rental of the Event Hall includes the use of tables, chairs, and place settings for 60 people. The accommodations include 7 bedrooms with 14 beds and the most awesome kitchen that you'll ever cook in. We also have some other great amenities to include; a hot yoga studio, a rifle range, a chicken house, a batting cage, a hot tub, an outdoor movie theater, a horseshoe pit, and a bonfire pit. Oh, and did I mention our amazing labyrinth? (FYI, I don't think the Knot is able to fix the pricing quote widget for us. It is not accurate here on this website and I don't know how to get them to make it correct, my apologies. We do have a wedding price guide that I can send to you as an attachment.)

Leaping Deer Ranch was a beautiful venue and the staff is caring and kind. It is a lovely venue for families and connections. Our daughter loved getting chicken eggs and feeding all the animals on the Ranch. The misty mornings were peaceful. Our wedding turned out beautiful thank you to all at the Ranch.

We are so honored to have been married at Leaping Deer Ranch. Beautiful venue and with great prices. Colin is laid back and very easy to work with and we had everything we needed. So grateful this place was saved from the fires and you can hardly see any fire damage.

First off the views and Ranch home themselves where truly spectacular. Colin and the leaping deer ranch crew went out of their way to make our special day just that special. The home is beautiful and works fantastic for preparing. The event hall was just perfect for us. We fully want to find a reason to go and stay again. Again cannot say enough good things about Colin and staff. Highly highly highly recommend booking this location

This was the perfect place to have a secluded wedding the house is beautiful and the event hall is just the right size to host a good amount of people. Colin was a great host and was there if you needed him. This venue not only felt homie and comfortable but had amazing views especially the sunflowers that go as far as the eye can see. Would whole heartedly recommend this place.

Leaping Deer Ranch is a special place. I catered an event there last month and I was amazed at how well the owner , Colin , takes care of it. It’s not only beautiful to look at but being there moving from one large room to the next was a dream. Though I was working I thoroughly enjoyed the huge kitchen and all the prep space. The bedrooms were beautiful and of course the views are amazing. If your looking for a nature based event location that is also luxurious, than this is the place. Leaping Deer Ranch is a special place. I catered an event there last month and I was amazed at how well the owner , Colin , takes care of it. we just got married May 1st. It was spectacular! You won't find a better view to get married in front of anywhere in New mexico. Our guests and us spent most of our reception lounging and dancing on a huge wrap around deck. The reception hall is perfect but it was pristine weather so we decided the hummingbirds, mountains, and music were much better decorations.

Beautiful place!!! We rented the whole place for the weekend. There is plenty of space for many couples to stay and help celebrate. We had the ceremony in the backyard against the mountain back drop. The hall fit 45 to 50 people comfortably. I definitely recommend this place for a wedding....all my guests told me what a great time they had and what a beautiful place. Collin the owner is great and helpful with any needs you might have.

We had our wedding at Colin’s ranch this past weekend and wow I cannot say enough positive things about Colin himself, his ranch hand Matt, and the ranch as a whole. Not only us, who were partial to the ranch from the start, but every other person who attended our wedding this weekend spoke highly of the ranch and its natural beauty. We all absolutely loved the house, too. The large kitchen allowed us to cook breakfast together and enjoy the community of our friends in the days leading up to the wedding and after. The fireplace in the front entrance was perfect for sharing old stories and laughing together. The formal dining room was picturesque and perfect for signing our marriage license in as well as for sharing meals and memories with friends and family. The master bedroom was INCREDIBLE. The tub large enough to comfortably fit two adults was icing on the cake! The bed and pillows were a dream to sleep on, and the candles that were made available throughout the space added a beautiful sense of romance to the place. My new husband and I enjoyed the rooster crows through the entire weekend and Fluffy, the ranch dog, made each part of the weekend that much more fun. We love dogs and fluffy was perfect have around. She spent time with us on the porch, visited us during our reception, and played with us and our bridal party in one of the grass fields during our photo session just after the ceremony. Colin and Matt even attended a post-reception bonfire and shared some great stories. Colin also talked to us about the meaningfulness of having our marriage at the center of the rock labyrinth. We were not able to walk the labyrinth in entirety during our stay this time, but we would absolutely love to return with more family and friends in the future to walk the labyrinth make more memories at this beautiful and very special ranch. Even with ongoing construction on the ranch, the property was absolutely picturesque and just lovely to spend time at.I highly recommend Leaping Deer Ranch!Thank you, Colin, for a perfect stay.

Leaping Deer Ranch is a true gem! We recently had our wedding here and it was everything we dreamed of and more!Colin is a great host and his property is immaculate. You can feel the hard work and love that he puts into the space. He was extremely helpful in answering our questions and accommodating our needs. He is easy going and truly wants his guests to enjoy their stay.The ranch housed our entire families comfortably. We had a beautiful ceremony in the outdoor labyrinth and a fun reception in the event hall. We were able to customize the space to our liking and it was great to have tables, chairs, linens, and place settings already available. The ranch has many other special touches. We enjoyed the beautiful fiber art in the house, the hot tub, fresh eggs from the chickens, visits from the hummingbirds, hikes led by the house dog, Fluffy, the horses, and star gazing at night. You will enjoy every minute of your stay here. It is so peaceful and serene. We will definitely be back again!

I couldn't speak highly enough about our incredible experience at Leaping Deer and how perfect it was for our big day. First- the hospitality of the owner and his staff is outstanding. Colin was attentive, kind, and welcoming from the moment we booked our stay and made planning a distance from several hundred miles away much easier. He offered vendor suggestions, was flexible as plans changed, and even came to watch the ceremony and join in our reception. As a lesbian couple, it was worrisome for us when looking for a venue not knowing whether or not they would treat us graciously. Not only did he treat us as any other couple, he went out of his way to tell us that it meant something to him for us to trust him with such an important milestone in our lives. Overall- we are truly honored to have had our wedding at such an unbelievably beautiful location both in the scenery and in the hospitality.

You should get married here. I got married here back in 9/2018 (the ceremony in the labyrinth!) and I could not have imagined a more perfect place . It is gorgeous, and Colin is an incredibly helpful and fun host. Our families stayed with us for 5 days at the ranch, and we could have stayed longer. The skies are amazing, and house feels luxurious and cozy. Colin gave us some great vendor recommendations as well.

You should get married here. I got married here back in 9/2018 (the ceremony in the labyrinth!) and I could not have imagined a more perfect place . It is gorgeous, and Colin is an incredibly helpful and fun host. Our families stayed with us for 5 days at the ranch, and we could have stayed longer. The skies are amazing, and house feels luxurious and cozy. Colin gave us some great vendor recommendations as well.

Beautiful views, Beautiful home for the Bride and Groom and their wedding party to relax and get ready for the big day. The wedding hall is very roomy. I invited around 135 people and we fit perfectly inside and outside on the gorgeous wrap around deck. The fire pit in the evening was amazing. All in all our wedding day was amazing, rain, rainbows and the view still has out guests talking about our special day. I was able to have Sim Balkey Nashville Country artist come and sing while I walked down the isle. The caterer was amazing as we served tacos for our dinner and our guest were amazed with the smoked bbq chicken from Kraigers tacos. I am still in awww with this place. Colin and Sophie are amazing and friendly hosts. We consider them part of our family now.

My daughter got married here on May 5, 2018 and the whole experience was amazing! The home was perfect for family and a few friends and the little apartment worked perfectly for the groomsmen. I think all in all we had about 18 people who stayed at the home. The hall was beautiful and accommodated about 75 people comfortably. Colin and his staff were amazing from beginning to end and provided everything we needed as far as table, chairs, dinnerware, silverware, stemware, tablecloths and napkins. The home had every amenity that you could need and allowed us to have several meals outside the ceremony with ease. One of our goals was to have a stress-free weekend and we had that and more! The views were spectacular, as was the property in general. Many guests commented that this was the most beautiful wedding they had been to. I would highly recommend Leaping Deer Ranch for a wedding or any gathering. In fact, I am hoping my son and his fiance will consider the ranch for their wedding, when the time comes. In the meantime I am looking for the opportunity to have a family gathering out there again. Leaping Deer Ranch is good for a person's soul and a beautiful way to start out a life together.
