Melrose Knitting Mall is a historic venue located in downtown Raleigh, NC. Originally built in 1903, this building sat mostly vacant for most of the 20th century when the textile mill closed in 1930. The event space at Melrose Knitting Mall is an elegant banquet hall that is awash in natural light. This sunlight streams in through 24 large, arched windows set into the exposed brick walls and sparkles off of two rows of crystal chandeliers. Above the festivities, rough cut beams add to the rustic ambiance, while dancing and dining takes place on rich hardwood floors. A custom bar rounds out a sophisticated industrial-style lounge. Couples who choose to wed in this venue will be enchanted by the chic aesthetic that these stunning features create. Weddings at Melrose Knitting Mill are supported by the venue's experienced event planners. They offer a range of packages to suit each couple's unique needs, from day-of coordination to full-service planning.Catering for events held at Melrose is taken care of by the on-site team at the ground floor's Mulino Italian Kitchen. To-be-weds can also choose from a range of signature cocktails to put their own stamp on a toast. China, silverware, and glassware are all supplied by the venue, as well as banquet servers to help the reception run smoothly.

The Melrose was an amazing choice for a wedding reception venue. First off, Southern Oak was fabulous since they are involved with the Melrose. Second, I heard the waitstaff was amazing all evening, and the food superb. I was incredibly amazed with how well the steaks were cooked despite them being the most requested meal. I also loved how the venue shown and glittered. I am truly in awe of how beautiful the space was.Southern Oak events was also incredible on top of it! Loved having Nicole there for me through the process. This did not disappoint!

My husband and I wanted a downtown Raleigh event space to host our reception. We are SO happy we went with Melrose Knitting Mill! The price was extremely competitive, location was excellent for out of town guests (no rental car needed), the space was clean, always accessible for me to pop by, food was served warm and tasted amazing, super friendly catering staff, and really excellent bar service. My guests loved cocktail hour downstairs and were wow'ed by the space!

Melrose and the entire team working there, especially our coordinator, Sarah Skrobialowski, were absolutely phenomenal. They helped us to have the wedding of our dreams and made the whole process so easy. Sarah helped us plan and worked with all of our vendors to make sure the day moved seamlessly. She was even there to help when my bustle broke! The Melrose venue is so unique and stunning and our guests could not stop talking about how good the food was. Melrose was even able to work with us when we wanted to do a pescatarian menu. They truly went above and beyond to make our wedding day the best day it could be!

My wedding was in July 2022. I immediately fell in love with the venue when I saw it. It’s naturally beautiful and doesn’t really need much additional décor. It also allows you to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the same location, but in different spaces, which significantly simplifies the planning process. We opted for the full wedding planner package with Erika. Erika was very friendly, accessible, and had excellent communication throughout the entire process. She took care of everything from connecting us with fantastic vendors, to designing the invitations, to setting up all of the decorations, and we are extremely happy with how everything turned out. Additionally, the venue provided incredible food through Mulino’s catering. The entire staff was very professional and helped the whole planning process and wedding day to run smoothly. We are very happy with how everything turned out and would highly recommend this venue!

We recently had our wedding at this venue. October 26, 2019. Not only is the venue absolutely gorgeous and allows for the most amazing pictures , but the staff is very friendly and made every single one of our guest happy. The food for the dinner was delicious. Sarah who was our day of coordinator and her assistant went above and beyond our expectations making sure everything went smoothly just the way we wanted it to. Sarah worked with us the entire time starting from when we booked the venue. Anything we needed she responded very quickly via text or email. Never left us hanging. If you want the most rememberable unforgettable wedding that people will be talking about for a long time , I highly recommend booking your venue with these guys!

Sarah Skrobialowski is freaking amazing. She just had a baby and yet she was there 2 weeks later, helping me plan the best wedding ever imaginable. She is the master cat herder who wrangled strong personalities, the silent ninja who put out and put away all the decorations, the precise planner who wrote a 7 page timeline that kept 120 people moving at the right pace, all the meanwhile staying cool and collected. The space was also a DREAM. Even people who are notorious for being hard to please had their jaws drop when they walked in. Please please do yourself a favor and go with Melrose, it is the most painless and beautiful venue we could have hoped for, and so many people told us it is the most beautiful wedding they've been to.

After touring numerous spaces around downtown Raleigh, and looking at a few in Durham, we knew we had to have our wedding at Melrose. The other options just didn't hold a candle to the beautiful and romantic aesthetic of the place. Plus, having a winter wedding, it made me feel really good to know they had a solid backup plan if the weather didn't cooperate and we needed to move the courtyard cocktail hour indoors. In the beginning when I was nervous about contracting agreements and being in good hands, the staff kindly took the time to walk me through all of my concerns and answer my questions. After the wedding, we got so many compliments from guests on the venue! I loved having a space that was already beautiful, taking the pressure off of me to pull in tons of decor. We brought in a wood arch, some simple green and white floral arrangements, and lots of candles. Honestly, the space already speaks for itself.

Melrose is a hidden gem in downtown Raleigh. My husband and I fell in love with the venue as soon as we toured it! I loved that we could hold both the ceremony and reception there which made it easy for guests! Steph Smith made the planning process a breeze & no detail went untouched! We received so many compliments on how detailed our wedding day timeline was! This helped to make the whole day run smoothly! The catering company Mulino’s provided a delicious meal and the wait staff were prompt and friendly! They made sure that we were well taken care of! I would highly recommend Melrose Knitting Mill!

When shopping for the perfect venue for your wedding, it can be pretty overwhelming. The staff at Melrose Knitting Mill made the selection easy. Being able to hold your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in the same location was AMAZING! Services included are day of coordinator, cake cutting, catering, flatware, glasses, waitstaff and room flip. I would highly recommend this space and use it over & over again.

We loved this venue & would highly recommend! We had our ceremony and reception at the Melrose Knitting Mill. Big shout out to Steph Smith, our wedding coordinator, who ensured everything was perfect from beginning to end. We were happy with our vendors and pleased with our food selections. We couldn't imagine celebrating our special day anywhere else. Thank you to the entire Melrose staff for your professionalism and creating an experience we will never forget!
