Potomac Point Winery & Vineyard is an award-winning wedding venue located in Stafford, VA. The owners and staff of this venue are committed to providing a personalized and romantic wedding day on their picturesque grounds. Whether it be a grand reception or a more intimate celebration, there is a space on the property to suit your needs.
The rolling hills of Virginia, coloring the landscape with vibrant green hues, will serve as the perfect backdrop for your big day. Straight, even rows of meticulously cared-for grapevines line the property and offer a spot for those perfect photo opportunities. This venue provides the flexibility to bring out that casual, boho side or to match your idea of a sophisticated affair. Dine with your guests among the vineyard’s aging ‘reserve’ bottles of wine or chat around the flickering firepit on the stone patio. Regardless of your preferences, this venue will help to create memories for a lifetime.
Potomac Point Winery & Vineyard specializes in weddings with 75- 180 guests. The Richland Ballroom is their largest event space. It's tasteful, but neutral decor is a canvas on which your own distinct vision for your celebration can take shape. Elegant chandeliers hang from high vaulted ceilings and light pours in from the windows to create an airy feel in the room. In contrast, the Barrel Room is warm, cozy, and full of character. Archways supported by brick columns sit atop the room’s rustic, copper-colored floors. You and your guests will sit among aging oak barrels of the vineyard’s finest wines. The venue’s Coyote Wine Cave has been the location of many photo shoots for newlyweds in search of a dramatic atmosphere for portraits. A glow is cast against the curved concrete walls of this structure resulting in a moodiness in its interior. This venue has no shortage of personality within event spaces which have been specifically designed for your most memorable occasions.

Ppw exceeded our expectations in a way I can barely describe. Taylor and Chelsea truly handled everything. They and the ppw team did all of the decor setup for us after we dropped off the supplies and they went above and beyond, including the pergola. The room looked amazing. We dropped off some spare centerpieces/supplies in case they were needed and they used them to further decorate the room. They made sure everyone knew what was going on at all times and constantly checked up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I cannot overstate how easy they made the process. They were also very responsive to my many questions I sent over prior to the event. The owner Skip was there that morning as well and he was also friendly, helpful and welcoming. The biggest hit at our fall wedding was the mulled wine. It was delicious, warm on a cool day and we got so many compliments about it. There were crab cakes delivered down to where we were taking pictures after the ceremony since we were busy for most of cocktail hour and I wanted to make sure I got to eat some. The short rib, mashed potatoes and truffle creamed spinach were delicious and tasted the same as during our tasting even when prepared in bulk. We got some fall colors albeit just short of peak season and so many guests told us how beautiful both the venue and the drive to the venue was.Ppw really helped us have the perfect day and it was worth every penny Reviewed on 25-10-2023

Potomac Point Winery & Vineyard made our wedding day feel like a dream come true! There are so many elements about this venue that make it extremely difficult not to fall in love with. The scenery, the ambiance, the staff, THE WINE - all of it just made it so easy to be in pure bliss throughout the entire day. We had made multiple trips to PPW prior to our wedding day to get a feel for the atmosphere and what it had to offer and it DID NOT disappoint. The entire staff from the hosts, bartenders, servers, to even the owner, Skip, always went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. We worked heavily with Chelsea and she was a big contributor as to why our wedding day was so successful. Her level of expertise when it came to communication, organization, and professionalism both leading up to the big day and on the day itself is simply unmatched. She not only listened, but actually implemented every detail we requested to ensure it matched our vision. We'd also like to thank Taylor for being helpful throughout the process as well. We originally fell in love with the outdoor essence of PPW, but unfortunately the weather was not on our side that day. Chelsea and her team worked diligently to ensure that the pivot to an indoor event went smoothly and it was absolutely beautiful! Guests were captivated by being in the Cellar area for the cocktail hour and were impressed by the quick turnaround from ceremony to reception decor. The quality of food and drink selection was amazing as well and there were nothing but smiles all around. The wedding package was worth every penny. It took out the hassle of dealing with other vendors and ensured we would get exactly what we were looking for. We seriously cannot stop raving about our choice to be at Potomac Point Winery and we can't wait to host another event there!!!! Reviewed on 20-10-2023

Potomac Point Winery is absolutely a must see on your search for a venue. My husband and I were seeking an LGBTQ+ friendly venue, and I was a bit nervous to start working with vendors in general. One of the first interactions I had was with a wonderful employee behind the main counter who told us she and her soon-to-be wife are getting married at Potomac Point, which immediately put me at ease. Then, I got to meet Chelsea who is amazing. She clearly has a knack for this profession because she can look at a room and appreciate the couple's vision. She seemed to be reading my husband's mind. Taylor is amazing as well. The two of them are an amazing team, and I swear they can teleport. The efficiency with which the entire team at Potomac works is a sight to behold. To note, Potomac has an in-house chef and being a winery provides alcohol packages; the winery also has a beautiful outdoor area for ceremonies. With many of the bigger aspects of the ceremony/reception being \"in-house\" the day really went off without a hitch. We had a contingency plan for inclement weather and while Andrew and I were able to get married outside (yay!), I have absolutely no doubt that transitioning the ceremony indoors would have been extremely smooth. Andrew and I chose to have a buffet meal, and the food was amazing. Food at weddings is kind of hit or miss sometimes, and I keep going back to how GOOD the food was, and all of the positive feedback I got from friends and family about it. I also want to acknowledge the staff - they were kind, funny, and ON TOP of everything. I wish I knew the names of everyone involved because every single person I interacted with at the winery was just amazing. If any of you read this, please give yourselves a pat on the back! :) The actual winery and scenery is beautiful. The winery is positioned on a hill that you approach via a path that travels between the vineyard. There is a dedicated ceremony area at the base of the hill, looking up toward the winery. There is absolutely room for as small or large a ceremony you want. There is also a wine cellar that is beautiful and smells amazing, and amazing suites above the restaurant for wedding groups to get ready. There are beautiful photos of previous couples (Chelsea's in one of them!) who got married at the winery lining the stairwell up to the suites, which creates a beautiful environment. In short, if you are looking for a ceremony/reception venue in Stafford, VA run, don't walk, to Potomac Point Winery and speak with Chelsea or Taylor!! The chef was amazing and very accommodating as our party and the bride had several food allergies, and we got so many compliments about how amazing the Hors d’Oeuvres and meals were. The owner, Skip, was very involved say of watching the weather very close. It ended up pouring rain but the alternate reception in the ballroom and cocktail hour downstairs was still just as perfect and the whole staff worked very quickly to get everything flipped around for the indoor plans. My wife and I had our wedding at PPW and it was fantastic. Taylor Buel, the events coordinator, did a remarkable job meeting all of our needs. She and her team were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the entire process and they gave us a great day. I highly recommend this venue for weddings or any planned event. We did the \"vines to vows\" package and had the ceremony offsite. The team was very accommodating and we still had access to the bridal suite and all the typical amenities upon our arrival. It rained on the wedding day so our cocktail had to be moved inside from the patio to the barrel room, but the guests loved the scenery. One note is that anything purchased on the day of the wedding outside of what is agreed to in the package will not be included. My bridal party ordered meals between our arrival from the church and the cocktail hour. We received a bill for these as meals for bridal party prior to the reception were not included. This made sense but escaped us on the day of with the festivities.Overall we couldn't have asked for a better venue/coordinator. Reviewed on 04-05-2023

K B(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-11-2018 My husband and I were married at Potomac Point in November, 2018. I hesitated to write this review, because I wanted to only remember the positive aspects of our wedding day. However, I think this is information that needs to be shared with future families prior to picking a venue.A lot of things within the facilities control went wrong on our wedding day. We lost half of our security deposit even though the venue lost power for at least 45 minutes of our reception. We lost the deposit because they saw my brother drink a beer in the morning before the wedding and another family member had a flask. This wasn't a rampant problem, and they never offered drinks to the men in the morning nor did they bring the food my husband ordered for the groomsmen. In fact, the event coordinator told me how entertaining she found it when bridesmaids were \" iced\" yet we lost security deposit for a small amount of outside alcohol being consumed prior to the reception or discreetly by close family? We argued for them to keep the venue open to make up for lost time, and they attempted to say this was an act of God. Luckily, my husband runs facilities for a large DOD facility, and understands the level of generators you need to have in place to charge people over $30,000.00 for a one day affair. We were given an extra hour. Its hard to believe they didn't take the half a security deposit to pay the staff for the extra hour- isn't it?Next, the \" small things.\" They disregarded our entire table set up completely. Our close family members and bridal party sat the furthest away from us. The customer service wasn't great towards our parents, our guests and even my maid of honor had a snarky remark made to her. I am happy I did not listen to all of their recommendations in terms of DJ, florist or photographer. The hotel they work with was not easy to coordinate with ( we had a lot of out of town guests) and the shuttle driver never answered calls or emails. He had a terrible attitude towards myself and my mom during the planning process, and came in to yell at me when the time of our wedding ending got pushed back an hour due to the power loss. Overall- the best parts of our wedding were our guests and the services we found for ourselves. Reviewed on 10-04-2020
Sahara Becker(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-09-2019 We got married at PPW in September 2019 and it was the most magical experience from the planning process all the way through the evening and beyond. We worked with Sydney Brown to help plan and coordinate our special day at PPW and she was incredibly helpful and responsive the entire time. She helped us create a perfect timeline for the day, create a delicious menu out of the catering options PPW provides and helped us pick out the great wines that all our guests would love. She also helped us pick our tablecloth and napkin rentals that would go perfectly with our centerpieces. The rest of the staff was also very nice and helpful on the day of. I made a lot of decorations for the wedding myself and brought multiple boxes of things to set up and without asking me any questions they were able to set up the space and the decor more beautifully than I could have ever imagined. Sydney also gracefully handles any situation thrown at her as she ended up being short staffed the day of our wedding but no one would ever have known because she got everything done in a timely manner anyways. She's a true miracle worker. She also saved the day when I almost forgot my veil before walking down the aisle and she sprinted back to the bridal suite to grab it for me. I cannot thank Sydney and the rest of the PPW staff enough. My wedding photos also turned out great since the venue is so beautiful! I would highly recommend the Vines to Vows package to any couple who wants memories and gorgeous photos to last a lifetime. One other plus about PPW is that they have a rain plan B that is as good as the outdoor ceremony! Reviewed on 31-12-2019

From the moment last year when we put our deposit down to dancing our last dance, everything about the Winery was perfect. We'd planned ceremony and cocktail hour outside. So disappointing because it rained Fortunately for us, everything was perfectly rearranged. The ceremony was in the ballroom. Getting 125 people into the lower level and rearranging tables and chairs was done seamlessly. The tables looked beautiful. The napkins were knotted just so. Thank you, Sydney! The food was perfect. Everyone complimented the steak and scallops. Several guests asked for the salad recipe! Service was exceptional. One guest wanted well done steak...she was so pleased, her request was delivered. Another was lactose intolerant. No problem with her meal. Sydney and her crew worked tirelessly. Brittany Oliver(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-08-2019 Potomac Point was an absolutely stellar wedding venue. From the very first time we set foot on the property at one of their open wedding showcases, we immediately felt this place was special. Aside from ticking all of the boxes we were looking for as far as setting goes (our vision was to get married at a winery/vineyard with rolling hills and gorgeous views), the in-house catering (delicious), beautiful ballroom and patio, and exceptional staff were all cherries on top of an already great package. These people KNOW what they're doing when it comes to weddings - Sydney, the venue coordinator, is a seasoned pro. There was no question too silly, no change too last minute, and no request too unreasonable for her to handle. She and the rest of the team were able to accommodate literally every small request that we had, from dropping off items the day before to putting our placecards together to adding last-minute vegetarian dishes for select guests (the day before!). This alone made us so much more relaxed on the actual wedding day, my friends and family kept telling me I looked and sounded so calm and choosing PPW is the reason why! We got countless compliments on the how incredible the dinner was and multiple people told me it was the most fun and beautiful weddings they had ever been to. Joanie Fay(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-09-2016 We couldn't have picked a better location for our ceremony and reception than PPW! The entire staff was the true example of phenomenal customer service. From our initial site tour and booking with Chelsea, to the prep and day of details with Sydney, and also Jonathan the Banquet Manager during the reception. All three of these people were onsite helping throughout our big day. Jonathan was there every second during the reception to make sure all went well, and was also getting wine and beer for my husband and I at any moment we needed it...outstanding! Sydney and Chelsea were fantastic, and I'm pretty sure Sydney didn't sit down the entire day, she just kept going! :)The food and wine were GREAT!! The in-house Chef makes the most delicious food, our friends and family raved about the quality of filet, seafood and everything they were served. This place is gorgeous and you wouldn't even think it's in Stafford, VA. Our big day went so smoothly thanks to Chelsea and Sydney, who were both an absolute joy to work with. They guided me through every step of the process and I really appreciated how flexible they were with all of my last minute changes. One of the biggest highlights by far was the food and wine. Multiple people after our wedding told me they had never been to a more beautiful reception, and I couldn't possibly be more pleased. Huge shout out to Chelsea, Brianna (good luck in Hawaii!), and Jeremy (he is so much more than just an employee there- he made sure to take care of my husband and I during the reception, giving us drinks and food, and just always being so kind and helpful!). Veronica Croce(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-05-2016 We had the most memorable day. It turned out better than expected and PPW pulled off what we thought was impossible under the unexpected circumstances. Of course we thought we could plan everything and the weather unfortunately had different plans but no one would ever know all the work behind the scenes. From the first phone call to Celeste at 11:50am to the last cupcake being packed by one of the Emily's at 8:10pm, all went amazingly smooth. All deserve a mention...Julius is a event coordinator in the making, his willingness to serve almost any request was noticed by all. Toni and Jordan really got their cardio in for the day and worked the floor well. Our guests never were without a choice of food or drink. I never saw a line at the bar so that tells me there was a great combination of floor service and bartender ? (Sorry, Jonathan kept bringing us drinks so I never got up there to spend much time with her.) The pasta chef deserves a hand, as does the cutting station chef, however I don't think the pasta guy got to a break all night. So much for low carb diets on Memorial Day weekend!I can't say enough about the Emily's. I did not know who they were until mid-party but all I know is that one of them were there every time I turned around, whether it be for baby powder or to find the videographer or gather the family. I think it's great you have interns working these events, what they learn in the midst of the battle is invaluable to their future careers in hospitality. Chelsea...the fact that you showed up as an extra set of eyes and ears was really appreciated. My family did not know who you were and couldn't remember you, so that tells me you empowered Celeste and Jonathan to run the event but given the dynamic circumstances of inside/outside, Storm Bonnie, etc...that showed us, and the staff, you truly are dedicated to a perfect experience for your guests. After this one, I think they are ready for anything.Setting up two options for the ceremony and moving to the ballroom as quickly as you did could not have happened without the both of them working in sync. If I forgot some of the team, I apologize. I know there were many working just as hard behind the scenes and out front. Our guests are still talking about our wedding and in fact they think the ceremony inside the cave ended up being more intimate and romantic than we could have imagined. I would actually recommend it versus outside even on a sunny day. We get the chills when our guests tell us the experience they had when the cave doors opened and the background of the vineyard looked like it was a back drop. Breathtaking!Lastly, nothing was funnier than seeing Celeste swaying in place and mouthing the words to the last song, \"The Time of Our Lives\ Reviewed on 19-06-2016
Heather Leslie(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-04-2016 Briana was our wedding coordinator and she did an amazing job with us. She is no longer with the winery because she has moved but we were very happy when she told us I was her last bride. She and the staff did an amazing job taking care of us with planning, making us feel comfortable during the whole process and being there when we needed them. The day of the rehearsal we brought all of our decorations for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and they stored it for us. The day of the wedding they took great care of us in the bridal suite and allowed us to set up the tables how we wanted them to look. They made sure we had everything we needed and made sure our day was special on perfect. I can honestly say I did not see or hear about one hiccup during the whole day or night. The staff made sure my husband and I had drinks, food and whatever we needed all night. The guest had nothing but amazing things to say about the food, drinks, staff and the winery itself. Johnathan made sure that I had a glass of white wine so I wouldn't spill the red on my dress and I just thought that was a great touch. He did a great job with us that night and between him and Briana they made sure everything was perfect for us. The new chef did a great job and everyone raved about how wonderful his food was with the appetizers to the dinner. Briana is so organized and helped us design our perfect day, she was quick to respond to emails which helped decrease any wedding stress, and on the day of the wedding she kept things going and took care of everything... It was a seamless day from my perspective as the bride! Our photographers were amazed over and over again with all the beautiful shots from the beautiful white blossoms at the driveway entrance to the stacks of wine barrels in the barrel room. I always enjoyed meeting with Chelsea to crunch numbers and Brianna to plan each and every intricate detail for the big day. The entire staff was always available when needed to answer questions and make the process as stress free as possible for a bride. All of the aspects of a wedding are perfectly pieced together in their vines to vows package, and I wouldn’t recommend doing it any other way. The rehearsal dinner in the barrel room was the perfect romantic atmosphere to set off the wedding weekend! The day of, Brianna was wonderful in making sure every detail was how I imagined, even keeping all outside vendors organized and the day flowing smoothly. The bridesmaid and I were able to enjoy mimosas and lunch catered by the winery in the bridal sweet all morning and afternoon, while the men were able to enjoy wine and cheese platters in the barrel room in preparation for the ceremony. Jonathan, the banquet captain, was one of our favorite parts of the evening, always available with a fresh glass of wine, appetizers and making sure our plates and stomachs were always full. Time was managed perfectly, and our guests are still raving about the winery! The catering and food was amazing, definitely one of the best parts for our guests to enjoy! I loved the special touch of being able to add signature cocktails to the winery wines and beers offered, making the bar unique and different from a typical wedding! Grape stomping, photographs in the vines, enjoying the cigar bar on the veranda, and the views are just a few of the amazing touches that made our wedding one of a kind! Overall, the wedding a bride pictures in her mind was perfectly brought to light in the beautiful vineyards of our outdoor ceremony and inside the elegant ballroom! Katie Boggs(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-05-2015 We really cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was at Potomac Point. From our very first contact with the winery, we found the staff very helpful, clearly explaining the price structure and options to us, responding to all of our questions by email and phone, and meeting with us at our convenience to discuss plans for our events and tastings. They also did an excellent job helping us to select rentals that set the tone we wanted for our event, and then handled all of the arrangements for those rental items. For other services (flowers, cake, DJ, limos, stationery) they provided a list of vendors that they had good experiences with during previous events. While we did not hire all of our vendors from their list, we did find each one from the list that we interviewed to be excellent. We had enjoyed dining at Potomac Point previously, but had not anticipated the awesomeness of their catering menu which they helpfully paired with their wines to help us put together quite a feast, which our guests thoroughly enjoyed. The service on the day was excellent. From the moment we arrived after our ceremony (held at a nearby chapel), we had everything we wanted, and we never had to go looking for anything. During our photography session, Potomac Point staff appeared multiple times with drinks and appetizers for the bridal party. This continued for the bride and groom during the entire reception. The staff were there, but never pushy or obtrusive. There were also little touches, like leaving a bottle of champagne for us in the limo that we rode home in, that we really appreciated. When the night ended, we really wished we had asked for an option to rent for a few more hours, because we just did not want the party to end. A couple of notes for other couples wishing to use Potomac Point. It books up early for peak times - we booked one year ahead. Also, if you need early entrance for your DJ or other vendors to set up, there will be additional cost for that. Reviewed on 11-08-2015

Sako Tumi(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-10-2014 I had the perfect offbeat wedding at Potomac Point Winery. \r\rAfter being rejected by a couple of vendors in Virginia for having a Buddhist Star Wars wedding, it was refreshing to have Potomac Point so very excited to work with us. My goal was to find a place that was all inclusive: rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception, catering, rentals, etc, but i wanted to hand pick my other officiant, my music, photography, baking and makeup vendors. After nearly ten years as a wedding photographer, i had preconceived ideas of kind of compromises i would have to expect. It turned out i didn't need to compromise on a whole lot: there was very little venue-mandated vendors. \r\rI was a little worried since halfway through the planning process, the planner went on maternity leave, and was a little worried that a new girl would be coming in so late to the game, but Abbey was easily the best coordinator I've ever met, and she was better about keeping me on my plan than i was. Sure, it may have been a day or two between correspondences, but I am fully aware that Autumn is a very busy season for weddings, particularly on weekends. We had guests who have Celiac's, some that were vegetarian and some that were pescatarian, and being that the Chef's wife also has Celiac's, he was excellent about preventing cross contamination and everyone got their fill of the best food I've ever had at a wedding. Jonathan and the other wait staff went WAY out of their way for us, and were super sweet and more helpful to us than they needed to be. The venue was so beautiful that very little decor was needed. Also, I turned many of my guests onto Potomac Point's wine, who went home with bottles and bottles. I will definitely go back for the bistro, and taking people with me. \r\rI would recommend this to everyone, but i would warn that the women upstairs, whose office is next to the Bridal Salon, were not pleasant to my wedding party nor my vendors. While they were pleasant to me, they were not to everyone around me. Reviewed on 05-11-2014

She is amazing!\r\rIn addition to Abbey, the entire staff (from the server that took care of the bridal party in our suite to the wait staff serving us dinner) everyone was wonderful. Shalon Starkey(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-04-2012 My husband and I were married very quickly! He proposed in February and we were married in April. In just a few weeks time I was able to plan our small wedding. This would only have been possible with the help of Tanya, who was the wedding coordinator at the time, and of course our families. Once we worked out the guest list, which was 20 of our immediate family and friends, it was on to the venue. We lived around the block from the winery and it was the first place we had dinner when we moved into the area. We thought the place was beautiful and just loved the feel of it. We knew we wanted an outside wedding and Potomac Point had a few ways to make that possible. So we met Tanya one afternoon to see the Coyote Cave in person and talk to her about the details. We appreciated her seeing us so quickly since my fiance was going out of town for three weeks! So we decided to have the ceremony on the patio overlooking the vineyard and have the Coyote Cave act as the aisle. It turned out to be exactly what I had envisioned! The Cave is rustic and beautiful, with sconces and wine barrels lining the walls. We brought in our own wine glasses to decorate the barrels, which the waitstaff then packed up and brought them in to decorate our tables. Priceless!! We had a slight problem with the JOP, he forgot. BUT Tanya was not about to let that ruin my day (not that it would of, I was marrying the man of my dreams). Tanya was on top of it immediately. She called him and he was there with in 30 minutes. My only problem with the entire event was that we had to bring in our own music, radio and extension cord for the ceremony. Although it wasn't that big of a deal I still had to bring more things with me and remembering those things was the key! lol After the ceremony there were a ton of beautiful pictures taken all around the vineyard and of course in front of the beautiful wooden doors of the cave. Since we had such a small party we decided to have the \"reception\" on the private roof top patio. It was perfect! The view was beautiful and the sunset brought a very special day to a close! The waiting staff was great and the food and wine were amazing! Our guests had a wonderful time! Did I mention that our two dogs were our ring bearers! They are VERY animal friendly at this establishment and we were grateful! All in all Tanya helped me plan a wedding in just a few weeks time and the winery was very accomodating to our small but very special wedding! It all went so fast and I wish I could go back and do it all over again! Reviewed on 01-11-2012
Colleen Stoneham(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-05-2012 My husband and I were married on a beautiful Friday afternoon in May 2012 at Potomac Point Winery. Our reception immediately followed. We loved the beauty of the vineyard, the kindness of the staff, and the delicious food provided by the onsite catering of Le Grand Creu. The entire staff did an exquisite job catering to our wants and needs from the start. Planning for our event was easy as the staff guided us at every step and was always available to answer questions, give suggestions, or implement our ideas. The locations on their property including the ceremony grounds, the vineyard, the \"Coyote Wine Cave,\" and the patio created a lovely setting that allowed for beautiful photographs. My husband and I, along with our guests, have loving memories to last a lifetime. Reviewed on 29-10-2012
