A new barn venue that opened fall 2020! Sunset Hill Wedding Barn is perfectly located minutes from Torch Lake overlooking 55+ acres of northern Michigan 's rolling hills. Our 4000 sq. ft. barn accommodates 270 seated guests with room for an additional 48 seated guests on our rear covered 1600 sq. ft. porch overlooking majestic countryside sunsets. Your wedding ceremony can be held on top of Sunset Hill with the beauty of nature as your backdrop. We welcome you to schedule a tour of the barn and get the full feel of the beauty of the property!

Laura and her husband were incredibly amazing the entire process from start to finish. They helped with setting up, they had decorations we were able to use for free! They answered every question we had. They were truly amazing to have worked with for our big day. The venue itself is something f you see on hallmark. They keep the barn so beautifully clean and presentable, they have beautiful cloth going through the ceiling, with such romantic flowers cascading down from the chandeliers. Then outside where we had the dance floor, the rolling hills in the background with such a wonderful sunset at the end of the night was just nothing I could put into words. We were so blessed and so excited to have used this venue for our ceremony and reception. I would recommend sunset hill wedding barn a thousand times over to anyone looking for a romantic but casual wedding. It was truly an honor to have had it here.

Laura & her team were so helpful both the day of & set up the day before :) they have an extensive list of decorations that made our lives SO much easier. If I could give this amazing venue more than 5 stars I would! I can’t say enough great things about them and I have received so many compliments and great reviews from friends and family. We had our wedding here this part august and it was the most perfect day ever. The venue itself is at a gorgeous location. It’s surrounded by woods and field that make for amazing photos. The barn itself is spacious and updated. Some of our guests came thinking it was going to be an old wooden barn and it is the complete opposite. It has the feel of a barn but none of the old issues like uneven floors or the old smell. The flat concrete floors make it perfect for any shoe style and they even have a concrete walkway that leads straight to the ceremony spot so I wasn’t worried about twisting an ankle because I stepped on an uneven surface. There’s a space for brides to get ready and a small kitchen area for caterers. With two bar locations, lots of table space and the best part of decorations being included in the price, you literally can’t beat this place!! Did I mention that they also have the best service ever? Laura and her husband go above and beyond to make sure that the day is seem less and beautiful! They even do the clean up for you after the event, how AMAZING!! We loved working with them so much and I can’t recommend them enough! 12/10 the best venue for any event!

If I could give this amazing venue more than 5 stars I would! I can’t say enough great things about them and I have received so many compliments and great reviews from friends and family. Laura & Tom are phenomenal hosts… our day would not have been as special without their attention to detail and assistance along the way! Laura was so extremely accommodating of all of our needs, and so sweet on top of it. The barn is absolutely GORGEOUS and the rolling hills as the backdrop were incredible. Their daughter Megan and friends did a fantastic job bartending as well- it truly couldn’t have gone any better. I can’t thank them enough! HIGHLY recommend for the perfect up north, outdoor wedding setting 🥰

We just had our wedding here last month and it was amazing! The views are SO gorgeous, pictures don’t even do it justice. The couple who own the barn were extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Laura was communicative the entire time, all the way from booking to the wedding weekend. They’re there to help set up the day before, wedding day, and then help take down the day after. They also have a huge list of decorations available to borrow which was super convenient. They’re just friendly people all around. Combine that with the beautiful venue and I can’t recommend this place more!

Oh my!! What can I say that is adequate to describe this venue, \"Sunset Hill Wedding Barn\".... it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL inside and out! Inside, was beautifully decorated with white roses and greenery, candles and lighting. Outside, the beautiful lush green rolling hills of Northern Michigan countryside featured a beautiful evening sunset, deer in the distance and a clear view of a starlit sky. Just gorgeous! If you love the pure beauty of Nature and dancing under the stars, then this venue is for you! I know this special setting is a place for new beginnings of \"Living the Dream\". My niece and her new husband were married here on July 10, 2021 and the owners were very accommodating in making their dream wedding come true in how they envisioned it! An absolutely spectacular wedding venue! I had the pleasure of attending a wedding here on July 10, 2021 and all I can say is WOW!!!! Just gorgeous. The owners were very nice and have done a fantastic job with the barn and the property. Everything was perfect (in this guests eyes). My daughter is getting married on the fall of 2022 and if she hadn't already made a deposit on a different venue, we would be having the wedding at Sunset Hill Wedding Barn!

Sunset Hill Wedding barn did NOT disappoint. Wow!!! This place was amazing. The ceremony was beautiful with white chairs and an altar set upOutside. After the ceremony we went inside for dinner and the place glowed beautifully. Dance floor outside with roof covering. The lightening was perfect for the whole reception. It was such a cool place to have a wedding. My husband and I wished we had had a wedding their ourselves. :) Very well done. Would love to attend a wedding there again!! Highly recommend.

Let me just say, SPECTACULAR! Everything about this venue is so well thought out. The owners ideas on decorations helped my new daughter in law create her perfect day. The owners go over and above in making this be what dreams are made of. Could not have picked a better venue for a destination wedding. Thank you for making my son and new daughter in law day the best.

I do not recommend using this venue! We were initially told to check out the website for details then after contacting them to book, we found out the prices posted on the website were not accurate. After some back and forth we came to an agreement. Then, recently my fiancé and I had to cancel our event due to COVID and the deposit was not refundable, which did state in the contract. However, we assumed a world pandemic would qualify as an exemption but it did not. I do not believe this is good business practice especially when we are thinking about the health and safety of others. I do not recommend hosting an event here.

The owners Laura and Tom were phenomenal to work with! We had the most crazy whirwind of planning our wedding and Laura and her husband were there to make our day happen in the best way possible! It was better than our first plan to have it at a golf course. If. you are looking for a barn, a perfect couple team to work with and having the time of your life you will be so happy you booked with Sunset Hill. We were their 3rd wedding there and everyhing ran so smoothly! I would do it every year the same way over and over if I could! The venue is MAGICAL and the smell of the wood is so lovely! The views of the barn for photos are so incredible as well! All the questions and assistance and attention to detail was quickly noticed and Laura was always there with an answer and ability to assist in planning from afar! My whole family and my husbands family LOVED THE BOTH OF THEM! We are so gratful that they have availaibilty and were so welcoming upon the very first time we met them over facetime! I booked it before even seeing it in person that's how confident I was in the person Laura is and the beautiful place they have built to make peoples dreams and love stories come true!!

I was a guest and helped set up on the day of the wedding. WOW! beautiful view, private space, sparkling clean, large covered patio for cocktail hour with everything you could want. What I really want to convey is that the owners were wonderful to work with during set up. Extremely helpful. On your big day when so much is happening they were hands on with the requests of the bride and family getting stuff done above and beyond what I would have expected. Also, Laura has an inventory of decorations that uniquely fit the space. These were all available to use as part of the barn rental. This was a big bonus when you are having a wedding out of town. I don't think anyone who looked at this place would be disappointed, unless they couldn't book the date they want.

My husband, Tom, and I are originally from Howell, MI and recently relocated to beautiful northern Michigan to follow our dream of owning and operating a northern Michigan wedding barn venue!
