Having our wedding at the Conservatory was like a dream come true. We knew the second we did our tour that we would book them. All of our friends and family cannot stop talking about what an amazing wedding we had. We highly recommend Krave for catering. Working with the Conservatory was easy, affordable, and honestly a blast. We worked with Shea who was our day of coordinator. Shea made sure the timeline went seamlessly and we could not have done it without her. Book with this venue- you will not regret it!! Reviewed on 01-12-2023

I cannot say enough amazing things about this venue! It's absolutely stunning and I'm still getting SO many compliments from our guests on how beautiful and elegant it is. The staff is so kind and helpfulâespecially their day-of coordinator, Shea! She was truly the MVP. I also have to call out how easy they make everything the week of your wedding with decor drop-off and pick up. We were able to drop off our stuff a few days before our wedding day, and we had a few days afterwards to come and pick it all up, making it so stress-free on the day-of, which I'm so thankful for! Our day was absolutely perfect at The Conservatory we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Reviewed on 08-11-2023

The most beautiful venue you could have for a wedding. The Conservatory was a dream come true space for Tyler and I's wedding. It was the exact vibe we were looking for and could not have asked for more. A beautiful locale, especially given the autumn season. The Conservatory team was fantastic. Excellent communicators -- in spite of us not having too many questions, they were always ready and able to address any of our uncertainties. Would definitely recommend getting a day-of coordinator, because ours (Shea) made everything run smoothly and effectively on the big day. Affordable, considering the general cost of throwing a wedding. Overall, a perfect venue for small to mid-sized events looking for that particular rustic feel! Reviewed on 31-10-2023

This was a perfect venue for our wedding! It has beautiful space both indoors and outdoors and it is elegant and classic without being overly fancy. We got married at the Zen garden and didnât need any decorations or flowers for the ceremony space because there are beautiful plants and flowers that came with the space. The grounds are very well maintained and there are so many nice areas for photos. The main indoor space is also beautiful, with a glass ceiling that lets in lots of natural light. There was plenty of space for our 175 person wedding, but I imagine it could be a bit too crowded if going much higher than that. There is another indoor space (connected to the main room) where cocktail hour was held, and this served as a great spillover area where people could go during the party â my parents loved it that their friends & our older relatives could get have a space to gather and talk thatâs away from the loud music on the dance floor. I highly recommend this venue! You have to find your own vendors (except for catering, where we choose from their preferred vendors or pay a surcharge to use another vendor). The whole process was very smooth and we had a great wedding experience at the Conservatory. Reviewed on 27-10-2023

We got married at The Conservatory on 9/8/23, and it was our dream venue! We wanted a rustic-themed wedding and both indoor and outdoor space, and when we toured the Conservatory, we knew it was perfect. Danielle gave us our tour and she was so personable and helpful. She went through all the suggested vendors with us, and we ended up using a lot of the ones that she suggested and that were on the list. Throughout the process, Danielle, Shea and other staff members were very responsive and helpful. We loved how customizable things were at The Conservatory since you weren't tied down to using a specific vendor. On the day of the wedding, the venue looked absolutely incredible. It was elegant and sophisticated, simple with a great rustic vibe that we were looking for. When you have your wedding here, you don't need to spend tons on floral or decor because the venue itself is already so beautiful! That definitely helped us stay within our budget. We got so many compliments all night and in the days following about how beautiful the space was and how much people loved the venue itself. I also love that we can go back and visit for different events like the state fair and Christmas market. We hope one day we can bring our future kids to The Conservatory and show them where we got married! It's such a special and unique venue; definitely check it out if you are interested in an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, and a garden/rustic atmosphere. Reviewed on 29-09-2023

When you book here they give you a list of caterers and the caterers do everything for you as well as bring all the silverware, plates and waitstaff. From the moment we first stepped into the venue, my partner and I were blown away by the stunning surroundings, impeccable attention to detail, and the warmth and professionalism of the staff.Throughout the entire planning process, the team at the Conservatory was there to help us every step of the way. They provided us with invaluable advice and guidance, as well as practical support and assistance with all of the logistical details that go into planning a wedding. From finding the perfect vendors to coordinating every aspect of the big day, they truly went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly and seamlessly. On the day of the wedding itself, the venue truly shone. We picked the Conservatory because we wanted an outdoor ceremony but knew the risks of rain with an April wedding and wanted a nice backup space. We did luck out with weather, but the interior of the Conservatory would have been just as beautiful to have our ceremony. All of the indoor and outdoor spaces were absolutely stunning and made for a beautiful day. We had Shea work with us as our Day of Coordinator, and we cannot recommend her enough! We had a few small snafus along the way, and she problem solved before we even realized they were happening. We were lucky enough to get the most perfect weather on our wedding day. Our ceremony was held outside in the courtyard, and our cocktail hour and reception were inside in the Conservatory. Pictures honestly donât even do this venue justice, as you can truly make the room whatever you want. It was also so comforting to know that in the event of bad weather, we had a beyond beautiful back up option to have the wedding inside. Each person that we interacted with at the Conservatory was extremely kind, and willing to help us in any way they could to make sure our wedding day was everything we dreamed of. The space is large and feels almost like you should treat it with as much reverence as a church, with high vaulted open ceilings and beautiful chandeliers. There are so many windows, large doors, and a beautiful courtyard space! The feeling there was chic, rustic, and intimate. It was perfect for our Fall wedding. What really made us choose the space was meeting Sue-Ann and Sarah. In our initial conversations, Sue-Ann really made us feel welcome and at home in the space, going through all of our options, and making recommendations based on our expressed needs. We then decided to use Sarah as our Day-of coordinator, and honestly it would NOT have been the same without her. She was THE best. Every moment she was there, she really put the effort into making sure our wedding vision was realized, that everyone and everything was where they needed to be, and that most of all - My husband and I were okay (we were going through and especially hard time throughout our wedding week). The space itself is gorgeous and looks even better in person. We loved that it had a beautiful garden area for photos, several options for the ceremony (both indoor and outdoor), and a separate barn area for cocktail hour/desserts. Because of that, we were able to do everything we needed to do on-site. Our guests were able to dance the night away and step into the barn area of they wanted a more quiet space to chat with other guests. On top of that, Sue-Ann, Danielle, and all the Conservatory staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. We booked our venue almost 2 years in advance due to the uncertainty around COVID and they were wonderful during the entire process! They've also made a lot of upgrades to the space, so I know they will continue to do their best to improve the venue for future couples! Their recommended vendors are also great and very familiar with the space, so you don't have to worry about having to bring in all these different vendors. The only con to this location (and many others in the area) is that there aren't too many hotels nearby. That being said -- we were able to get a block at the Holiday Inn in Newton and it wasn't a problem for us. I 100000% recommend this venue to anyone looking for a unique and beautiful space! Madeline Easterling(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-01-2022 EXCELLENT!! We loved the cost of this place (Friday in January) as it gave us the freedom to pick our own food and liquor vendors. They still recommended some options and helped us get connected with those vendors. While the space is rustic, since itâs mostly undecorated it gives you the freedom to make your wedding feel like whatever you want. We loved the ambiance and vibe. Even with our wedding being in the winter we still got to use the outdoor space (cigar bar with rented outdoor heaters, and an outdoor sparkler entrance). It was easy to get in touch with the staff, who responded almost every time within minutes. Only thing I would recommend is that the Conservatory make it clearer for guests where they are supposed to drive to get to the venue. With the fairgrounds being as big as they are and there being multiple entrances, a few of our guests had trouble finding the Conservatory building. Everyone went above and beyond to accommodate us and the space is truly perfect for a large wedding like ours! Would definitely recommend. Reviewed on 31-01-2022

Jessica & Dave Bourdette(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-10-2021 10/10 The Conservatory is so beautiful (especially during the fall!) and a perfect setting for a wedding. Sarah and Sue-Ann were fantastic to work with and very responsive to every question or idea we had. Sarah worked her tail off on the day to flip our entire ceremony from outside to inside when rain came through (and it still looked gorgeous inside, she even found a copper arch to put our florals on). This is very much a DIY space and you must bring in every vendor on your own (they do have a preferred list to help but it is really all on you to do). We liked this because it helped us control our budget and find people we really loved and wanted at our event. They only book one wedding a day so the entire grounds are yours from morning till night. We loved having the different garden spaces for tons of pictures and the cocktail hour space in the farm building was perfect for our rustic romantic vibes. They even let us use a white space on the wall to project a photo slideshow my sister made for us. We loved that we were also able to use their storage space the week before the event and even store things there the night of the wedding so we didn't need to clean up (our coordinator and Sarah did most of the clean up!), we just came back up the next day to pick it all up. We were so happy with our day and plan on coming back for years to come to reminisce. Reviewed on 22-11-2021

She even helped us out with our original hotel when they tried to change our block rate! It was well worth the wait, as the venue is absolutely gorgeous and gave us the flexibility to truly make it our own. Our main hope was to have the ceremony outside, which we were able to do in their courtyard in front of the gazebo surrounded by beautiful gardens. Though it was a 95 degree June day, the building itself was cool and comfortable. My cousin, an architect, was in awe of the design. The windows and natural wood really capture the light and particularly look great at dusk. Sarah, our coordinator, took all of the decorations that we made and set up the space better than we even imagined. I described our thought process and she executed everything perfectly! If youâre looking for a stunning indoor/outdoor venue that you can customize, we would recommend The Conservatory 100%! Reviewed on 25-06-2021
Rachel Thangavelu(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2021 My husband and I could not be more pleased with booking the Conservatory for our wedding! We had both our ceremony and reception onsite and everything was absolutely beautiful. My bridal party and I even got ready in the bridal suite onsite, which was so convenient for us! Our original plan was to have the ceremony outdoors, but the rain prevented us from doing so. However, the ceremony in the Farm Building was so gorgeous (and cool enough for a June wedding!) and was even better than we could have imagined! Sue-Ann and her team did a great job with planning everything despite the uncertainty with Covid restrictions and the rain backup plan. Our guests had a wonderful time; we had so many people tell us how beautiful they thought the venue was and how they would tell their engaged friends about the Conservatory! We would do it all over again if we could! We can't say enough about the Conservatory at the Sussex County Fairgrounds! Reviewed on 22-06-2021

From the moment we stepped into the conservatory we knew it was going to be our venue. Sue-Ann is one of the sweetest people I have ever met in my life and her assistant Sarah, who I met the day of our wedding, was absolutely incredible. She made the show run and is so talented in her position there! We had a fantastic wedding and we owe it all to our amazing vendors, but the conservatory itself stole the show. Our guests couldnât believe how gorgeous of a venue we found and enjoyed every aspect of it. Not to mention we got some incredible photos because this venue is just so beautiful! Alina M.(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-08-2020 My husband and I had the extreme pleasure of getting married at The Conservatory in August 2020. Our original wedding date was supposed to be in April 2020, but we all know how that goes. Sue-Ann at The Conservatory was incredibly kind and accommodating through this difficult time and was so amazing to work with. Luckily for us, we were able to keep all of our vendors, and though the day looked different than what we had originally planned, it was absolutely amazing. The venue is so effortlessly gorgeous and all of our pictures look incredible. This is a great spot for outdoor weddings, and they are recently purchased an large tent to be able to accommodate outdoor parties during the COVID pandemic. The flowers all around are always so immaculately maintained, so you can really get away with having pretty minimal florals and still have it seemed that you went all out. there are so many places on the grounds to take pictures, you definitely won't be at a shortage! I would honestly highly recommend this venue to anyone who likes a rustic theme! Reviewed on 14-09-2020

Planning a wedding in a pandemic can be very stressful but Sue Ann made sure that she did everything to help us solve every issue we ran into with restrictions. They bought a tent for the garden area since there was no indoor dinning and decorated it with lights to make it more wedding friendly. Andi Leibowitz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-09-2020 My husband and I had our wedding at The Conservatory last week and we can't say enough good things about it! The venue is so beautiful â the main building is all windows and glass (when we were looking at venues online I saw a picture of the main building and knew that this was the place for us), there's a farm fun building connected where we had cocktail hour that was very rustic and had really nice string lights set up, as well as a cute suite for the bridal party, and the outside area of the venue has these little gardens that are great photo ops! Right now The Conservatory also has a tent set up outside (although fall is coming up and NJ is starting to reopen indoor dining, so not sure how long they'll have the tent), and they set up plants and lights in the tent for our reception and it looked amazing. We worked with Sue-Anne and she was fantastic â we were actually supposed to have our wedding back in March but everything was shut down right before the big day, and Sue-Anne worked with us to find a new date and make sure that we had all of the info that we needed. It honestly could not have been a more perfect day, and we're so happy that we chose The Conservatory for it. AlyssaRay Leon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-11-2019 The Conservatory at the Sussex County Fairgrounds- for a low budget bride with high budget taste this was the perfect venue ! Since they just got into doing weddings a few years ago when we booked we got an amazing deal. Prices are still competitive but oh my goodness is this place stunning ! It provides a rustic feel but with high class looks. The courtyard with the gazebos, garden, and fountains is perfect for photos and the barn is cozy and charming with their lighting. The actual conservatory is breathtaking. The windows allow he natural light and you get a nice open feeling. My guests were all so impressed. As was I. Sue-Anne and her crew were great to work with. Katy Qian(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-07-2019 I toured 8 venues around NJ, and found some 'good enough' options... but when I visited this one, I knew I found the one. I am still in love with how amazingly spacious and beautifully rustic the Conservatory is.Choosing the venue is not an easy decision. Standard requirements are good food (choose one of their 3 preferred caterers), easy to work with staff, reasonable cost. Our other requirements were high ceilings & lots of light (because better pictures), fits up to 250 guests and indoor/outdoor options (because of NJ weather). Check check check! Not only would I be supporting a non-profit organization, the fairgrounds was extremely flexible in their policies and even allows pets on site. They only do only 1 event per day and lets you in as early as 5 hours prior to get ready or take pictures. There were mini-gardens and lakes and barns, and there were all sorts of fun festivals going on throughout the year (aka good cell service despite being in a rural area).Plus the reception hall speaks for itself. Climate-controlled glasshouse makes the indoors feel like outdoors, the wood from sustainable forests of South America and the chandelier decor imported from European designers. There's even a giant garage door for my grand entrance! I did take a star off for responsiveness. The coordinator had left shortly we had signed on, and despite trying to reach out several times, there were more than a few months of radio silence that got me worried... The newly hired coordinator did reach out a few weeks before the big day, and we managed to get everything prepared in time. Door Games / Tea Ceremony in the Bridal Suite / Zen Garden, Ceremony in the Fun Barn, Cocktail on the patio area & Reception in the Conservatory. Everything is on a hard surface & on one ground floor, and a short walk from each other, so no worries for high heels or wheelchair accessibility. All the hired staff on the day were great to work with and made sure all went smoothly.Having attended many weddings, I still think hands-down Sussex Conservatory is the best! Reviewed on 18-10-2019

From allowing us to set up the night before to pulling us outside for mid-reception firework photo opportunities the staff at The Conservatory at the Sussex County Fairgrounds were amazing. After an initial wedding date mix up, Danielle and Kristin F. set out to ensure our day was the best ever and it was. Kristin F. truly set us up in the weeks before and on the day of running our reception with ease. With a bubbly and lovable personality she immediately won over my mom and I and definitely did not disappoint any of the vendors with whom we put in contact with her. Her collaboration, not to mention the fun she had, with each of them ensured we had the perfect reception. The Conservatory easily accommodated our 150+ guests and vendors including a large dance floor, DJ, and photo booth. Susan La Fauci(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-04-2018 I just got married there on April 8th, and I couldn't be happier about my wedding experience. People raved about the open, airy feel. The weather was so cold so we had the ceremony in the Farm Fun Room, and it was beautiful. The bridal prep area is a little small and needed a little sprucing up, but we got some inexpensive fabric that our florist attached to the wall with a garland, and it was perfect. I stayed and prepped at the Holiday Inn Newton-Sparta (It was only 10 minutes away) and then dressed in the prep room. We ran a shuttle back and forth for the bridal party and guests. There are no steps-which was perfect for our less mobile guests. We had an afternoon wedding so we got the benefit of the bright sunny day, sunset, and the indoor lighting in the evening. Definitely consider this when discussing lighting needs/packages with your dj. Danielle was very helpful and great to work with. She made us feel like she was just as excited for us to be getting married as we were. The Conservatory requires that you work with one of three approved caterers-we went with Frungillo's. They were fabulous. People repeatedly commented on how great the food was. Dawn was our day-of manager, and she was great. And because of the relationship between the venue and the caterer, Danielle and Dawn worked seamlessly together. We did not pay the extra $1000 for the premiere day-of package, and we didn't feel for a second that we should have. They took care of everything. We went with the long rectangular tables instead of the rounds. It may cost more to rent the linens, but I thought that the look was beautiful and changed the feel of the reception. We drove around the grounds the day before to stake out some places for pictures. I highly recommend doing this as there are a lot of places that would be good for some more unique pictures besides the gazebo. In the Farm Fun Room, we hung a garland behind our officiant and brought in some plants which they placed on some cool-looking barrels to help frame us in pictures. It was just the right touch. You do have to bring in your own liquor and get event insurance. The event insurance was $125 and easy to get. We contracted with a liquor store in West Milford, Uncorked Wine. They delivered everything that morning and took back any unopened bottles that we didn't use. We had to make the trip to return it, but they were pretty easy to work with.I would HIGHLY recommend the Conservatory. It was elegant without being a typical wedding venue. People were very impressed with it, and my husband (I still giggle when I say that) and I loved having our wedding there! I hope you do, too! Reviewed on 16-04-2018

Tons of natural lighting and the chandeliers are amazing as well at night. So pleased with the team that works there, they even went out of their way to make sure I had a bridal entrance with the snow storm that came a couple days before the wedding!
