Emily Allen(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2015 When we started looking for a venue, my husband and I knew exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a more rustic and outdoors type of setting that had a warm and intimate feel for our big day and so we came across the Dixie Gin. It was perfect and fit our style so well. The place was awesome with it's weathered look and the classy touches of the huge rustic chandeliers and the dim globe style string lights everywhere. Also, the price was pretty reasonable in comparison to a lot of other venues in the area. There were several things that I didn't care for too much though. First, they only give you four hours to rent the entire venue. After our four hours had expired, I felt like everyone was thinking 'It's over already?\". Everyone was laughing and dancing and having a great time and then it just felt like it had to stop so abruptly. Also, due to the time constraint, I felt like we wasted our money on our DJ considering there wasn't enough time to even play all of our requested music. All of the events throughout the night felt a bit rushed due to the limited time we had. Secondly, after our time had elapsed, we had to clean and pack up all of our things! We had rented some furniture and other various items through a local rental shop, not to mention all of the little things like decorations, gifts, leftover cake etc. Our guests were helping us load everything up. How tacky is that? We had invited our friends and family out to this place to celebrate, relax and have a good time, and then they end up spending the end of the evening working! They also only give you thirty minutes to get your stuff out of there, so everyone who was helping was just carelessly throwing stuff into boxes and jamming them into vehicles. I felt like it would have been a lot more reasonable if they let us come back the next day to retrieve our items or worked something else out. I did not enjoy cleaning up while wearing my $2000+ wedding dress. Overall the location was amazing however, if we had to do it all over again, I think we would pass. Reviewed on 27-10-2015
