Along with the absolute beauty of the Gadsden house, the staff are truly incredible. From first booking, to the tasting, to last minute deatials all the way through the end of wedding night. Communication was great and each staff member made us feel so special, along with all of our family and friends. I have never experienced such intimate and professional service. Along with serivce, the food was amazing-every single moment of it!

We chose the Gadsden House for our wedding ceremony and reception on 9/23/23. Two months later, we are STILL getting compliments about the venue, service, and food. You cannot go wrong choosing this place for any special event. The staff on site was extremely attentive and helpful throughout the entire planning process. From our initial tour, to the tasting, to the day of, we are forever thankful to their team for making our experience so memorable.Pro tip: If they still have them on the menu, choose the mini chicken and waffles *chef's kiss*!

We searched long and hard for the perfect Charleston wedding venue and truly, the Gadsden House was beyond our wildest dreams!! We fell in love with it initially because the historic home and courtyards are gorgeous and it has a great downtown location -- but the KSHG team took it to another level entirely. They are so attentive and think of everything -- they went above and beyond to take care of us and make our wedding day THE most special day of our lives. The team added so many thoughtful details to our day, just because -- extra birthday champagne for me since my bday was in a few weeks, a custom bride's cocktail, even complimentary IPAs for our guests. All of our guests raved about the food afterwards too (and the team made sure my husband and I ate as well! Best wedding food I've ever had, no lie). I work in client services and I have never met a team that anticipates needs and wants like this one. Brides: come for the beautiful venue, sign for the team, they are truly the best.

We loved everything about our wedding day at the Gadsden House! The KSHG team is the best of the best. The service, food, venue, and everything was just perfect. The entire staff, especially Sofie, were so authentically kind, attentive and accommodating. They took such wonderful care of us and it seemed like everyone in the wedding party had a story about how above-and-beyond the staff went for them. Our guests raved about the food and drinks, and a few guests even went out of their way to tell us how impressed they were by how accommodating the catering team was to their dietary restrictions/ allergies. We didn’t have to worry about anything and truly got to just enjoy our wedding day. The bridal suite and grooms quarters were also such a great aspect of the day. Besides the bridal suite being huge and stunning, it was great that we had access to it the entire day; we had our hair, makeup, pictures, ceremony and reception all done at the venue and it made the day so low-stress and easy. I would recommend the Gadsden House to any couple looking for a stress-free, beautiful, completely customizable venue!

Where do I begin??? The staff, the food, the venue itself - everything was a 1000/10!! Maddie, Sophie, and everyone that we worked with were professional, prompt, beyond helpful, and KIND individuals. We could not have asked for a better team!!My family and friends are all talking about the food and our late night espresso martinis- what a hit!! Everyone said how delicious the wines and other cocktails were as well as the dinners being the best food they’ve had at a wedding!! We chose this venue because of the beautiful outdoor, intimate space, and although it did rain and we did need to utilize the tents, everyone did their best all day to maintain the beauty and made sure all of the guests were dry! The verandas and beautiful architecture of the inside of the house also provided the perfect covered places for us to get a ton of photos since the plans had to change a bit due to the rain. Thank you KSHG for the wedding of our dreams!!!!!

We held our wedding ceremony & reception at the Gadsden House on Oct 21st and it was absolutely perfect in every way! So much so, that my dad added a special thanks and a joke to his FOB speech to specifically call out what a wonderful job KSHG did that day, jokingly saying guests could not even put down their drinks before staff would clean it up or refill it - the staff truly went above & beyond and Maddie specifically made sure me, my now-husband, and our parents always had drinks in hand, food plated at our seats, and even saved passed apps for us while we were taking photos. From the first visit we had to the Gadsden House, we knew it was the venue for us - the historic home, vast history, and beautiful surroundings, not to mention upbeat & attentive staff, were exactly what we were looking for. They were always beyond accommodating to any request - working with us to come up with a specific brunch menu (for our morning brunch wedding idea), allowing us to bring in external vendors when needed (i.e. for a coffee cart!), and being okay with our golden retriever, Wally, being onsite for photos and to walk down the aisle as our Best Man/Maid of Honor!Every other vendor who we worked with (planner, photographer, hair & make-up etc) mentioned to us (at some point or another during the planning process) that the Gadsden House was their favorite venue to work at and with. From our planner mentioning how responsive, helpful, and professional the KSHG staff is, to our photographer being obsessed with the natural lighting & photo backdrops, to the HMU artists raving about the huge bridal & groom suites we used to get ready in! I truly cannot say enough positive things about this venue & staff and we hope to be back again in 10, 20, or 50 years to do a vow renewal with KSHG <3

The Gadsden House was the perfect place to host our outdoor ceremony and reception in late October. The venue was beautiful and King St Hospitality Group did a phenomenal job in hosting and catering our event! The Gadsden is a \"blank slate\" so we opted for whimsical florals, candles and cafe lighting to really dress up the outdoor space. The bridal party utilized the getting-ready rooms for hair/makeup prior to the event, which were spacious and convenient. KSHG also offered a tasting in advance of the wedding to help us in selecting passings/appetizers/entrees for our finalized menu. We opted for multiple passings (bacon-wrapped shrimp, chicken biscuit, fried oyster, arancini) a plated salad, plated appetizer (scallops), a plated entree (short rib and shrimp and grits) and passed sweet treats (chicken and waffle and key lime tarlette) in addition to wedding cake. These additions quickly added up, but they were worth it! I would say that prices are reflective of the quality of the food and service.The food and drinks were excellent (guests are still raving about it!) and the service was unmatched! Maddie and team made sure our glasses and plates were always full and even prepared us a tray of passings once cocktail hour started. KSHG worked with us prior to the event to ensure dietary restrictions/special requests were accommodated. For guests who were vegetarian, KSHG prepared dishes that closely mirrored the other entrees (i.e not just a plate of veggies). It was truly a wonderful venue!

Our wedding was everything I had imagined and SO much more because of KSHG! When picking venues, my husband and I headed to Charleston from MD to try and find something so that we could do a destination style wedding. We had looked at Upstairs at Midtown online and that was the one we were most excited about. When we booked the visit, they asked if we wanted to tour their sister site and we figured \"why not\"? Well, we INSTANTLY and I mean INSTANTLY fell in love with the venue. Everything about it, from the details of the lanterns outside to the greenery fences, to the beautiful vintage style interior decor that is so well kept and just lovely.. we knew that was the venue for us! We went to Charleston on several occasions for our food tasting, final walk through, etc. and working with the team was absolutely wonderful! They were kind, responsive, accommodating, descriptive, helpful, and so much more. Our food tasting was one of my favorite experiences of all time because it felt like we were all just a group of friends hanging out and eating delicious (AND I MEAN DELICIOUS) meals. With that being said, because they knew how far we were they did everything that they could to help accommodate us being so far away. They even offered a virtual tour of both venues if we wished so that we did not have to drive down (although gladly we went because we wouldn't have instantly been overwhelmed by the elegance of entering the Gadsden House). I feel like I could go on and on about the venue AND the team, because it was such a wonderful experience. They made our wedding feel luxurious, and made sure every single detail and design was exactly what we envisioned. I HIGHLY recommend both the vendor AND the venue. They worked SO well with our planner (Peper Events) as well, and it made the process SO much more enjoyable and stress free as they covered so many aspects and details that I did not have to worry about. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, beautiful venue with excellent service then I highly recommend you go with KSHG. Additionally, the food deserves a review ALL on its own, but it was absolutely incredible. I am from Portugal originally, and my family had NEVER had chicken and waffles, and said it sounded horrible. Well we had it as an hor d'oeuvre and they were completely blown away by it! Everything from the hor d'oeuvre, to the delicious melt in your mouth beef, and the bacon ranch fries for a late night snack (10/10 recommend those) were wonderful! I would go back JUST for the food alone if I could!

Where to even begin. I am 3 months out from my wedding and people still make a point to tell me how incredible the service and the food were. Truthfully I don't think the praise for the Gadsden House will ever stop from my guests because it really was that good. As the bride, I didn't worry about ANYTHING and to put it in perspective, I got married on Memorial Day weekend, in May, in Charleston and yet somehow it poured rain and was 50 degrees ALL DAY. So when I say I didn't worry about anything I mean somehow, my 90 year old grandfather in a wheelchair had blankets around him at all times (blankets that I didn't provide or instruct the Gadsden House to use, they just did), all my guests were escorted everywhere by a staff member with an umbrella (from the car, to the cocktail hour, to the reception), my mother got very sick on the morning of the wedding and so she couldn't steam my dress or help so her friends showed up at the Gadsden House without a clue of what to do and had never been there before but the staff provided a room and a hanger and water and all the help to make sure all the mom duties were taken care of, I found out later that during cocktail hour a bunch of our guests ordered John Daleys to drink which were not on the menu but the Gadsden House responded to the demand by making a batch and just started passing them out so there wouldn't be a line at the bar. Further, my WHOLE FAMILY (not just the groom and I) were never without a drink in our hand. I never went to the bar, asked for a dessert or snack or anything, it was just always was given to me and my whole family no questions asked. Not to mention the food is NOT WEDDING FOOD, its really good true food that is so much better. I could go on and on, but I guarantee you won't regret working with the Gadsden House.

We got married at the Gadsden House three weeks ago, and the wedding day was better than I ever could’ve imagined! Throughout the entire process, the staff was incredibly organized and courteous. They help simplify the daunting task of wedding planning through clearly delineated steps and deadlines. At the wedding, the staff went above and beyond to make sure guests’ needs were met. Everyone was so kind and competent. We’d recommend KSHG to anyone getting married in Charleston!

When you decide to hold your wedding at The Gadsden House, you’ve nearly completed the biggest wedding planning challenge. Mainly because, once you make the decision to go with KSHG, you know you are in possibly the best hands in the wedding industry. Sofie, Kathleen, Maddie, Desiree, Sarah, Regina, Chef Derek, Chef Travis, Chef Joe + entire KSHG team has a grasp of hospitality, level of service and presentation that is completely unmatched. Warm, knowledgeable and always helpful, they hold relationships and experience with a wide array of select vendors, making it easy to match the level of talent across-the-board from flowers to musicians. They manage the food and bar, which makes for nearly a one stop shop with high level presentation, beautiful selections and a delicious outcome.The Gadsden House is a beautiful historic property that includes a secret garden and a beautiful mansion with loads of history and character. The renovation created a clean slate yet refined sensibilities such as stunning chandeliers and fireplaces to allow you to explore your wildest bridal décor dreams. And, dreams do come true. It was a true pleasure getting to work with them, and we were constantly impressed with their flawless execution and high standards in each step of the process. We just need to figure out how to get back and throw another party one day!

The Gadsden House is as good as it gets. We immediately fell in love with the venue after our initial tour and with a relatively tight timeline from securing the venue to our wedding day, the King St Hospitality Group team helped us pull off the Big Day seamlessly. The combination of the building itself with it's stately high ceilings and wrap around porches, with the expansive patio, and convenience of groom's quarters and bridal suite made the Gadsden an absolutely perfect place to host such an important event. Outside of the building, all those involved were first class and made what can be a stressful event a breeze. Thank you to the entire KSHG team for your tireless efforts--it was truly the best day of our lives.

The team at The Gadsden House is incredible! The planning process was seamless, even as I live across the country. Every part of the planning and event experience was thoughtful and tailored to us. Right from the tasting, the team took note of our likes and dislikes and ensured that we had a menu specialized for us. They were attentive throughout the entire evening and made sure that we had everything we needed to fully relax and enjoy the night. The staff was incredible and truly provided the elevated experience we were looking for. We even had long-time Charleston residents complimenting the venue! One of the best aspects of The Gadsden House was the food. Truly incredible options. We got so many compliments the night of the wedding on how good the food was. Overall, I cannot recommend The Gadsden House and the staff at King Street Hospitality enough. They helped ensure our wedding was everything we wanted and more!

This winter, King Street Hospitality hosted our group at the Gadsden House for our annual holiday party. The venue’s interior is spotless, and the garden and grounds are beautifully manicured. The Gadsden House retains all its 1798 charm while offering contemporary food and beverages. The team (Sofie, Maddie, and Sarah) responded immediately to our inquiry and were in constant contact throughout the entire planning process. We deferred to their expertise in food recommendations, rentals, and venue setup. Our group is very satisfied with the Gadsden House and will not hesitate to recommend it to others. We look forward to planning another event at the Gadsden House in the future.

The Gadsden House is the greatest venue ever. From our very first Zoom virtual tour of the venue, we were greeted with truly the kindest, most helpful team at King Street Hospitality Group. Leading up to the wedding, they were so on top of everything, keeping our planner and us in the loop every step of the way. When it came to wedding day, I can’t say enough incredible things about our day of venue coordinator, Maddie. She worked seamlessly with our planner all day long, and checked on us all night long. Our guests RAVED about the food the entire night. From hors d'oeuvres, to dinner, to late night bites, everyone enjoyed everything. Most people said it was truly the best wedding food they had ever had. All of the KSHG staff constantly checked on us throughout the night, bringing us plates of hors d'oeuvres, champagne, water, etc. You name it, they had it for you. The venue is kept in pristine shape. The courtyards and the house itself are so well maintained. I loved the then venue had so much natural beauty, that when our florals, lighting, and decor was set up, it added to the beauty of the venue without overpowering. I could go on and on, but you truly cannot go wrong with KSHG. They are the best of the best.

We cannot recommend the Gadsden house and the KSHG team enough. We got married at Gadsden house September 2022, and we worked with the KSHG for a year. They're very responsive, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. The KSHG really blew us away with how prompt and hospitable the service was during the wedding. The food and drinks were AMAZING. People are still talking about the food. Kathleen, Sarah, Sofie, and everyone else was so helpful. They were constantly making sure everything was perfect and it really was a perfect day. Gadsden house is the perfect venue in downtown Charleston with both the bridal suite, and grooms quarters as well. It was tough to find a venue that offers both. Gadsden house has the charm of downtown Charleston and the interior is gorgeous. It's the perfect backdrop for your wedding day. You will be in great hands with the KSHG team! We used King Street Hospitality Group for our Rehearsal dinner at Upstairs at Midtown and our wedding at The Gadsden House.The entire team was knowledgeable and professional from the first tour all the way through the reception a year later. Our wedding took place on the day Hurricane Ian hit Charleston and Kathleen and her took extra time all week leading up to the event to make sure we had all the necessary alternate plans in place. The event would not have happened without the extra efforts by the whole team.The venue itself is beautiful inside and out, the food and service was top notch. Thank you to the entire King Street Hospitality Group team for making our wedding weekend the best it could be!

If you're looking for a beautiful, historic, timeless, wedding venue with the best food you've ever had, Gadsden House is the place for you! My husband and I got married in May at the Gadsden House with the amazing help of Buttercup Events (you need to hire Amy!). The venue itself is a blank canvas that is light and bright and can truly become your wedding vision. Without any decoration it's beautiful in and of itself. The staff is extremely helpful and informative. I live in NYC and was able to get all my questions answered promptly and even do a Zoom tour before visiting in person a few months later. One of the things that drew me to Gadsden House was that everything can be done in one place. We wanted an outdoor wedding and there is space for dinner, dancing, and even cocktail hour on the balcony. The bridal suite and grooms quarters are on-site making the day of super easy for everyone involved. We had gotten catered food for the day of and were able to get in early in the morning to start our day. Both the bridal suite and grooms quarters are such well designed spaces. Our planner and vendors turned the outdoor area for our ~100 guests into a beautiful scene. We were nervous about our station style / no reserved seating and the staff made it super easy for our guests to understand and the event flowed nicely. Overall the staff was WONDERFUL. Sofie especially had worked with us from the beginning and was so helpful throughout the day. The FOOD. I can't say enough about the food. Every single guest commented on how great it was, and that is sooo rare for a wedding. We're still dreaming about the short rib and risotto. Even the cake was phenomenal! I would do it over again in a heartbeat, and change nothing. Thank you to the entire Gadsden House team for giving us the wedding of our dreams!

There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe our wedding experience with the amazing KSH team at the Gadsden House, specifically Sofie and Kathleen. From initial inquiry outreach to the last moments of my reception, I was met with enthusiasm, warmth and attention to detail that I never expected! I felt like the team was personally invested in making my wedding the best ever - like I was working with a friend. Planning was an absolute breeze - I am an out of town bride and asked one million questions which were always answered thoroughly and patiently. The resources they build out for their clients are so helpful, with planning guides, seating templates, recommendations, calendar reminders, all in a Google drive with contracts & such made it so simple. They were always accommodating when I was in town to tour the venue with parents who hadn't seen it yet, or if my fiance and I just wanted to look in with our planner. Once topline details were squared away, the communication around the tasting and menu was so helpful. The tasting itself was also a highlight of the planning experience. The food is not your typical wedding food - it is top restaurant quality, beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. My guests have continued to text me about how amazing the food was, several specifically mentioning dreaming about the banana cream pie desserts :)As if I wasn't impressed enough, the actual wedding day could not have been better. Kathleen and her team are absolutely committed to ensuring the bride, groom and families are constantly attended to, in addition to all of the guests. Sofie even was so kind to come up while I was getting ready to say hello and congrats because she couldn't be at my event that day. My husband and I never had to ask for a drink or food, and neither did our families. They were in front of us before we would have even thought to ask. Any little last minute details were handled by my planner and KSH and it made for a totally carefree experience for my husband and I, which was beyond appreciated. At the end of the night, they subtly pack things up for you so that you don't have to lift a finger.You can have a beautiful venue and outstanding food in many places but the white glove service you get with KSH (in addition to knocking the venue & food out of the park) makes them the best of the best. I am SO happy I had my wedding here, it truly could not have gone more perfectly and KSH is the reason! Thank you, thank you!

Every single detail about the Gadsden House was PERFECTION. I don't even know how to describe how perfect everything! I'll start with the staff- the team at KSHG and the Gadsden is beyond amazing. Kathleen, Maddie, and the entire staff were always accomodating, friendly, and sweet! They were so quick & helpful with their responses leading up to our big day which helped us feel super prepared and comfortable with them the day of. Throughout our entire wedding day, Kathleen & Maddie were there to make sure we were comfortable, hydrated, fed, and happy! Guests at our wedding even commented that the staff was super sweet and attentive.Second - the food! We knew the food was going to be delicious after our tasting but we were even more blown away the day of. The cocktail hour bites were so delicious - along with the signature drinks! And dinner was BEYOND good. Like - still dreaming about it good! Our guests could not get over how delicious the food was. I am still thinking about the corn panna cotta... We hosted a destination wedding for 100 people at the Gadsden House. Living out of town, you never really know what you are going to get for your money but you should trust every single one of the 5 star reviews you have read. The KSHG is first class and the Gadsden House is out of the world beautiful. Kathleen, Regina, and their team were very responsive to endless emails and questions. The tasting was wonderfully planned. And I was pleasantly surprised to see the people who I had emailed with for months were in fact the same people who were there onsite serving me the entire night of the wedding. They did not hand it off to other people. They were there and wonderfully attentive all night. All of our guests were blown away at the Ritz-Carlton level service. If you are considering a seated dinner, I recommend it. Even with 100 people, every meal was piping hot. The entirely female serving staff coordinated meal delivery with each person at the tables receiving their meals simultaneously like a royal event. As the bride, I never had to go get or look for anything. I was attended to and after speaking with our guests, they were as well. We even had a guest with a severe food allergy and they were diligent on communications to ensure she had an allergy-free meal. The Gadsden House & the entire KSHG staff deserve 6 out of 5 stars.

Wow! We got married at the Gadsden House and were so blown away with the food, drink, venue, and most importantly the level of service and hospitality. While wedding planning and speaking with other vendors, they all had the same reaction about the Gadsden House. We heard from everyone about it being one of the best venues in town and how much they all enjoyed working with the KSHG team. It was so clear to see how well established KSHG is and how many good working relationships they have with vendors all over Charleston. The whole team was so easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. They were full of so much information and always so helpful and willing to answer any questions right away. In addition to being so helpful, KSHG was SO courteous and kind to not only us, but our entire family and all of our guests. I truly did not lift a finger all day, everything between our wonderful planners and KSHG was taken care of. They were always there when you needed them, but never in the way or taking attention away from the party. Our families and friends cannot stop raving over the level of service and kindness from the staff. Our plates were never empty, and our glasses were being refreshed constantly. I was most blown away when were taking pictures after the ceremony, several blocks away, and Madison walked to find us to serve hors d’ouerves. Totally unexpected, but so appreciated. One of our favorite memories of the planning was the tasting. It was such a special time to share with each other and our moms. It really set the bar high for the wedding day, and the expectations were so far exceeded. We loved everything and cannot say enough. You will be in such good hands with the King Street Hospitality Group. We highly recommend KSHG!!

Wow! We got married here in March of 2022. We were planning our wedding while living in Texas. The whole team at the Gadsden House were incredible to work with from far away. They arranged a tour via FaceTime prior to us booking. We appreciated their organization, responsiveness and patience as they addressed all of our many questions and talked us through the process. We were able to see the venue in January during the tasting/walk through. The King street hospitality group makes the tasting/walk through so much fun! It felt truly like a celebration! The tasting was absolutely delicious and the team walked us through, with the help of our wedding planner (Amy from Buttercup events), to help us see the vision of our wedding day! We cannot begin to describe how much we LOVED our wedding day at the Gadsden House. We had rainy weather but the clear tent + string lights and perfect flowers (from Bliss and Bloom) made the whole house absolutely stunning. The staff at The Gadsden House were incredible. They were so attentive! Everyone had smiles on their faces and they had people assigned to me/husband and to our parents to make sure everyone had drinks/food. It was amazing. We were actually able to enjoy our appetizers/dinner and drinks because the staff made sure that we had exactly what we needed. The whole space flowed flawlessly and no one had to wait for food or drinks with 3 stations and 2 bars. Our guests have continued to talk about how delicious the food was. We had the seafood tower and 3 passed appetizers during cocktail hour and then we had shrimp and grits, chimmichuri and the lemon chicken for stations. They were all AMAZING. The portions were excellent sized and we had more than a few guests going back multiple times for more shrimp and grits! Additionally, the house itself is beautiful for photos. We took some outside when it was not raining but also had great spots on the porches for additional photos. We loved that the space lended itself to multiple “spaces” within one space to have a ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. In Charleston, couples have a lot of choice for wedding venues but we cannot recommend The Gadsden House. If we had to do it all over again, my husband and I would pick The Gadsden House every single time!

The Gadsden House was the perfect venue for our wedding. My husband and I did a destination wedding and wanted a venue that screamed southern charm and Charleston architecture. That is exactly what you get with this venue with its big porches, gas lanterns, and stone courtyards. As expected, the venue looked absolutely stunning on our wedding day. What made the venue even better was the exceptional service and THE FOOD! The KSHG team is the epitome of southern hospitality and just blew us and our guests away with the level of service and attention to detail. Sofie and the entire team working that day were absolutely amazing. They checked on us frequently throughout the day and bent over backwards to make sure the evening went perfectly for us and our guests. As soon as we walked out from the ceremony they had glasses of champagne ready for us and then brought plates with all of the hors d'oeuvres to us. All throughout the night they brought both my husband and I and our immediate family whatever drinks we wanted. The staff also made up plates with food from all of the stations so that we didn't have to get up and it gave us time to actually sit down, relax, and eat. The staff also took such great care of our family and friends. My father-in-law in particular went on and on throughout the night about how wonderful the staff was and he wasn't the only one. And to top it all off, the KSHG team cleaned and packed up the bridal suite for me. They had everything neatly packed and set aside in the room for me and my bridal party to be able to just grab and go at the end of the night! It was so kind of them.Now to talk about the food, which deserves a paragraph in itself. First of all, the tasting was such a fun experience and the food was incredible. We were blown away, but also thought that it probably wouldn't taste as good when cooked in mass for the reception. And were we ever wrong!! We chose to do 4 passed hors d'oeuvres and 3 stations for dinner. The food was even better than at the tasting. The oysters were phenomenal and the she-crab soup was to die for. And I'm still dreaming about the fried chicken and mac and cheese. My goodness it was the best fried chicken I have ever had and wish that KSHG would open a restaurant so we could come back and eat it every time we visit Charleston. Our guests RAVED about the food and still do months later. One of our guests is a chef and complimented how good and \"fresh out of the oven\" everything tasted, so hats off to the culinary team!! You simply cannot chose a more beautiful venue with a more incredible team and food. You will be so glad you chose KSHG!

They were so beyond supportive through the entire wedding process, and became true friends. Beyond their incredible help, the day of the wedding was magical. The staff, environment, food, and drinks were all UNREAL. I still have people talking about the food at my wedding months later. Where do I begin with the fabulousness that is the KSHG team and their venues? We hosted both our rehearsal dinner (at Upstairs at Midtown) and wedding reception (at the Gadsden House) with KSHG and can’t imagine having done it any other way. From the initial email correspondence to our send off at the end of the evening, each team member maintained an unmatched level of professionalism, care and willingness to accommodate. We are still blown away by how incredible the team at KSHG is and we’ll continue to remark on how they truly made our wedding that much more special. The service is impeccable - Sofie, Maddie, and all the staff, were beyond attentive, patient and thorough throughout the entirety of our wedding weekend. Not only did they treat my husband and me like kings and queens, the team also took excellent care of our wedding party. From never letting our glasses run dry to greeting us & our wedding party with the most delicious food and beverages as we got off the bus, no detail was too small or overlooked. They took great care to make sure we - and even my parents - were fed, hydrated, and never wanting for anything throughout both of our events. We must also rave about the food, THE FOOD! All we can say is “Wow!”. Honestly, one of the best meals we’ve ever had - not just good for “wedding food”. The chef perfectly executed our menu modifications and requests. Our guests have not stopped commenting on how good our food was…we even had people calling us the next day wanting to know if they could get more shrimp & grits (seriously, add these to your menu if you’re booking with KSHG)! Because the venues speak for themselves, I’ll keep this portion brief - the venues are well-maintained, clean and of course, aesthetically beautiful. Personally, I don’t think you will find a prettier bridal suite than the Gadsden House. In sum, we could praise KSHG for pages but if you read nothing else from this review, know this: no other vendor or venue compares; there is simply no one that can do it as well as KSHG. The best!! Lindsey, Kathleen & the whole King Street Hospitality Group were absolutely amazing throughout the whole process and truly made sure that we had the best day ever. The venue itself is stunning with the most beautiful & comfortable bridal suite to spend the morning getting ready in. The KSHG team puts their hearts into each couple they work with and that shines throughout the entire planning process. And the food!! Our guests (and us!) are still raving about how delicious the food was along with the best service. We barely made it back down the aisle after the ceremony and Lindsey had a tray of hors d’oeuvres waiting for us! They not only made sure to take care of us but also our five year old daughter – her one request was a chocolate fountain, when we asked Kathleen about it at the tasting she did not miss a beat before saying of course! On the wedding night, Gabby’s eyes lit up when she saw a chocolate fountain especially for her complete with all of her favorites to dip! There was not one minute of the entire wedding day where our whole family didn’t feel completely catered to. We truly did have the best day ever and we are forever grateful for the King Street Hospitality Group for all their work to ensure it was perfect!

Amazing venue and the best team!!! My wedding was on June 11 at The Gadsden House and the KSHG went above and beyond for us. We are from Louisville KY so this was a destination wedding for us. We had so many questions before booking (we didn’t even see the venue before booking!) and they answered all of our questions and even took us around the venue on zoom. The venue is to die for. It is so stunning! The team didn’t miss a beat during the wedding planning process or the day of the wedding. They made sure it was the perfect day! I received so many compliments on the food and the service; both were over the top amazing!!! Everyone told me it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had and the service was top notch! Hands down best wedding venue ever!!!! Lindsey and her amazing team at The Gadsden House out did themselves to make all our wedding dreams come true. It was effortlessly perfect and that is saying a lot for a large destination wedding. Also they helped re-plan our wedding in less than 100 days I mean that is incredible and not one thing went astray. We fell in love with the beautiful character and gorgeous courtyard of the venue and the staff made us feel like family. Every person we worked with and had the pleasure of meeting from the planners, servers, to caterers were all very professional and kind. The food was 5 freaking STARS and would give Gordon Ramsey a run for his money. All our guest could talk about was how wonderful all the food was and the incredible service. Kathleen is one of the sweetest people and went out of her way to make sure our experience was stress-free as possible.The amount of care the team puts into the property to keep it clean, updated, and fresh is seriously impressive. The historic house is extremely well taken care of and the fusion between classic Charleston charm and modern touches had our guests stunned.On the actual day, the staff’s attention to detail was unmatched. Our guests raved about the service from passing of hors d'oeuvres, bartendering, and serving of food. Speaking of food, our dinner, which we booked through their kitchen, was hands down one of the highlights of the evening. Our guests are still dreaming of the chicken and waffles!!When we booked the Gadsden, we thought we were just getting a beautiful venue. We are going to ATTEMPT to put into words the absolutely phenomenal experience my husband and I had working with King Street Hospitality Group. The first and most important piece of advice I can give for any couple planning their wedding, is that you should hire a team with heart, and the team at KSHG is all of that and MORE. When we hired our wedding planner, the fabulous Cayleigh at the Petal Report, the team at KSHG came highly, highly recommended by her. We fell in love with the venue and the wonderful initial conversation we had with Kathleen and booked our date site unseen. My husband and I unfortunately had to pull the plug on our original April 2020 wedding date a short month prior when the pandemic originally hit, and the level of empathy, flexibility and HEART that we felt from Kathleen and Sofie was honestly that of a close friend. Going through the hurdles, anxiety and stress of moving all of our originally booked vendors not once, but twice, Kathleen took time to personally call me and put my mind at ease. Kathleen and Sofie both sent a handwritten note to my now husband and I to let us know that they were thinking of us on our original wedding date. I will never, ever forget that level of kindness. Fast forward to our big day - the service, food and experience we had celebrating at the Gadsden House was met with comments from our guests like ‘this is the best wedding I’ve ever been to’ and ‘that is the most delicious wedding food I’ve EVER had’. Sofie & Maddie made everything SUCH a breeze, and their attention to detail to us, my parents and my in-laws was something I’ve never experienced before. Chef went ABOVE and beyond for our tasting and every aspect of our experience with this crew was outstanding. Sofie also went out of her way to pack up individual to-go boxes of ALL of our food at our reception to enjoy after - my goodness. With postponing to this spring, we also were able to continue with our original plans for our Welcome Party which we chose to host at KSHG property, Vintage Lounge, which has been a favorite spot of ours in Charleston for a few years. The service and overall experience there made our weekend absolutely perfect and the KSHG team made sure of it and treated it like an extension of our wedding reception. Our wedding day will forever be our FAVORITE day, and the wonderful team at KSHG will make sure of it for you. We are still riding the post-wedding high and wish we could rewind and do it all again. We would be confident that this crew would make sure it was perfect every time. Booking The Gadsden House was one of the absolute best decisions me and my husband made while planning our wedding. We were originally supposed to get married in Orlando, but ended up scraping the whole plan about 3-4 months out from our wedding because our venue's COVID rules were very strict. So we basically had to start our wedding from scratch and The Gadsden House made it practically stress free for us! They were very responsive to our emails and were very accommodating. We found their pricing to be very reasonable and the venue was GORGEOUS. My bridesmaids and I absolutely loved the bridal suite and it was so much fun getting to spend the day in there getting ready with them. The food was amazing too! Our guests could not stop talking about the venue and the food. Many if not all said that this was not only the best venue they've been to, but also the best wedding food they've had. We would definitely highly recommend this venue or any of their other venues because the King Street Hospitality Group was such a pleasure to work with.

I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else! Everything about The Gadsden House and King Street Hospitality Group in top notch and truly unparalleled. We got married in November after postponing from April. The team at Gadsden House made changing our date as seamless and easy as possible. We used KSHG as our onsite coordinator and couldn't ask for a better group of planners. Sofie and Kathleen pay attention to every detail and always responded to emails very quickly. On my wedding day, they had calm energy and made sure everything went according to plan. They were there when you needed them and were always one step ahead to make sure not only me and my husband had what we needed but our entire wedding party and group of guests. Maddie was beyond helpful during the day in making sure I had water and lip gloss. I cant say enough about The Gadsden House and their team!

The very best decision we ever made was booking the Gadsden House for our wedding. We were a destination couple and as soon as we set our eyes on it, we knew that it was exactly where we were meant to get married. The house itself is simply stunning, meticulously maintained, and packs in the Charleston charm. The icing on top of the cake was working with the KSHG team. Kathleen, Lindsey, and the rest of their team are truly in a league of their own. Their team has flawless communication, execution, seemingly anticipate every need, want and desire- making our day literal perfection in every way imaginable. To give you an idea of the level of detail, care, and attention they bring to your big day- my bridesmaids and I couldn’t figure out how to bustle my dress..it was dragging in areas and Lindsey had noticed. During dinner she literally sat on the ground and pinned my dress up perfectly so I could enjoy the rest of my night without worry. Their level of professionalism with their entire team is unmatched. I'm obsessed with the Gadsden House! After seeing the Gadsden House in person, I could envision my entire day and immediately knew it was the venue for our wedding day. Even after our wedding I'm still looking at pictures of the venue because it is just stunning and the epitome of Charleston charm and elegance. I had so many compliments on the indoor/outdoor set up of the venue and how beautiful and elegant everything was. Although it is a lot of work for a venue to come as a blank slate, I love seeing the different personal touches that people put on the Gadsden House for their own wedding day. I loved seeing my vision come to life the day of. The food was amazing and I had multiple people tell me that it was the best wedding food they have ever had!

With our small, intimate wedding with a guest count of 30, they still gave us the grand treatment! This venue, the staff and the food is something we will continue to talk about for a long, long time. The hospitality and generosity shown by Kathleen, Sofie, Lindsey, and everyone else at KSHG is out of this world!! They are so incredibly sweet and sincere, and the personalized touches that they provided from start to finish made me feel like we were the only couple they were working with. My fiancé couldn't make it to the food tasting, so they gave me a take home box of leftovers for him to try. After the ceremony, they had a cocktail in each of our hands before we could even sign the marriage license and they made sure to bring us hors d'oeuvres during photos so we didn't miss out on our own wedding food. Kathleen made sure we had our plates for dinner before anyone else and I was never without a drink in my hand all night long. The two little boys (age 4 and 6) in our wedding party walked up to the kitchen staff and asked for burgers when no one was paying attention. My mom went to apologize and they told her not to worry - they were going down the street to their restaurant to make sure the boys had some burgers and fries! They truly know how to make you feel special and made what could've been a stressful day an absolute dream. Not to mention, the venue itself is GORGEOUS! Our families are still raving about what a beautiful day it was and we are beyond grateful to have such a wonderful memory to look back on. Thank you!!

We were faced with the devastating scenario to postpone our wedding due to the coronavirus, and Kathleen and her team, have gone ABOVE and BEYOND for us. This group is not just a wedding venue, not just planning events, they are support systems, guides and friends. During the postponement process, Kathleen called to check in and talked me through numerous scenarios (as I was of course in tears!) and her unwavering support has meant the absolute world to us. They were amazing for our wedding in February!The planning process with them is flawless: they are detailed, organized, and responded to all of our questions within 48 hours. The KSH team was some of the best I have seen, and truly the best in Charleston- they will make your day perfect. The venue itself is in the heart of downtown Charleston and offers and experience of multiple floors, porches, and outdoor courtyards. The day-of staff including managers, bartenders, chefs, and servers were all professional and went out of their way to give 5-star service to us. They ensured we always had a drink in our hand and that we ate food. Our guests have continued to give us compliments months after our wedding on how tasty the food was! We highly recommend this venue and company.

This is long overdue, but wanted to be sure that we shared. As a couple coming from New Jersey, we were looking for a venue that was much different than what we’re typically used to – and we absolutely found that and more with The Gadsden House. We booked the venue without ever having seen it in person – and I will be the first tell you, all of the photos that you see and the reviews that you read online are 100% accurate. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. It is picture perfect and incredibly versatile. And so are Kathleen and her entire team. The service they provide is second to none. In the lead up to the wedding, Kathleen made herself available to talk through and answer any/all questions that we had – and was open to making our vision for the day come to life. In the hours before our wedding we were faced with the decision of adding tents due to potential rain. We were hesitant, as we didn’t want to take away from the beauty of the venue. Kathleen talked us through all options, helped us research, provided her thoughts based on experience. In the end we tented a portion of the patio and it turned out to be the best decision given the warm sun, providing a bit of relief pre- and post-ceremony. And didn’t take away from the space itself. And the food is worthy of another post entirely. Absolutely delicious – and again, much different than what we’re typically used to at weddings in the northeast in the best possible way. Overall, our guests from New Jersey were stunned and it’s safe to say that we had the best night of our lives. We highly recommend this venue, the staff, the catering – everything!

Perfection! The most beautiful setting for our destination wedding. After we decided to have our wedding in Charleston, South Carolina, we saw the Gadsden House on Instagram and knew instantly we had to book the venue for our February wedding. The team at Gadsden House and at King Street Hospitality took care of everything! Every detail was planned to perfection and they truly made planning from afar the easiest process. They even made sure we had a shovel on site when we buried our bourbon on the property a month before our wedding! Charleston is absolutely known for its food and the food at the Gadsden House does not disappoint! Everything was just perfect for my wedding in February thanks to the team at The Gadsden House! Not only are Kathleen, Sofie and Lindsey beyond accommodating and responsive to your every need, they are the sweetest and made every thing I wanted go off without a hitch! I couldn't believe how quick they were to hand us drinks and food when we had a spare moment - I certainly was not complaining! The venue speaks for itself - it's absolutely gorgeous and is the perfect canvas for any bride's creativity. Something that can't be missed is the incredible food by the catering team. People could not get over the chicken and waffle appetizers, I believe they were rushing the poor servers as soon as they came out of the kitchen :). I truly was in awe of the spectacular service we received throughout the entire wedding planning process, I would pick this venue and team over and over again! We looked at a multitude of venues and the romantic feel of the home coupled with the southern charm of the veranda and courtyard made it the perfect Charleston venue for us. However, what blew us away was the responsiveness of Sofie and Kathleen - how they catered to every request we had- and the waitstaff the day of. This was the first venue we looked at out of about 10 and from the moment we stepped through the gate we knew this was where we wanted to get married! Words cannot describe how beautiful this venue is, even on a rainy day which we had. Our guests were use to a typical NYC and wedding so we were worried about what they would think since this was different and they cannot stop talking about how beautiful it was! Kathleen and her staff were angels through all of our hiccups and we’re so attentive! The food is beyond amazing, my guests cannot stop talking about it, especially the shrimp and grits, fried chicken with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, oysters, chicken and waffles and the she crab soup! We actually had guests following the person with the she crab soup around! The food isn’t just wedding good, it’s some of the best food you’ll ever have and the station dinner was perfect for our guests! The Gadsden and staff deserve more than 5 stars!

BEYOND. That is how I would describe King Street Hospitality Group. We ended up having all our wedding events with them. Welcome Cocktail Party at Vintage Lounge, Wedding at The Gadsden House, After Party at Blind Tiger. The Gadsden House, quintessential southern charm but a modern space inside. The Gadsden House is blank canvas inside were you can create any of your design visions. There are so many versatile spaces that we used the upstairs for a ceremony, downstairs for cocktail hour, courtyard for a tented dinner and upstairs for a dance party. Charleston weather can be volatile and the outdoor spaces at the house are amazing but if you need to enlist your rain plan like we did – the house is so beautiful your guests will not even notice. Then there is the food. The food was EXCELLENT. This is not your average bland chicken and steak wedding we all go to. Everything we had was so delicious and our guests were commenting all night about the food. All the staff is so professional and accommodating. You will be in good hands with their team and they will make your wedding something you will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you KSHG!

Wow. The Gadsden House was a PERFECT venue for our wedding. From start the finish the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and responsive. We also looked into a sister venue (Upstairs at Midtown) but when I stepped on to the Gadsden House property, I knew it was where I was going to get married. After getting quotes from some other downtown venues, I thought the price was great (I was determined to stick to a budget) without feeling like I was compromising on space, location and/or beauty. You really don’t even need to invest much in decorating the venue, it’s just that beautiful. The food was also AMAZING!!!!!! Now, I also cannot say enough about Kathleen, the amazing, always smiling and all-knowing wedding planner/coordinator extraordinaire. I sent Kathleen so many (sometimes panicked) emails through our planning process and she knew just want to say to ease my nerves and provide a solution/answer. On the day of my wedding she was a total beacon and made sure our day went without a hitch. Our wedding party and guests were even commenting about how wonderful she was. I could not be more grateful to her and the Gadsden House staff for what was truly the greatest day of our lives!!

We were planning from out of state, and Kathleen and her team were so understanding and accommodating of our schedules during our trips to Charleston. Even before we booked the Gadsden House, Kathleen allowed my mom (who lived close by) to tour the space and send us pictures to help us decide if Gadsden House was the right venue for us. And it was the PERFECT venue for us! Gadsden House has such classic Charleston charm, and it is the most beautiful setting for a southern wedding. Everything about our wedding day was absolutely amazing, from getting ready in the gorgeous on-site bridal suite to the reception layout to the flow of the evening and the sendoff. Kathleen and her team are absolute rock stars! They worked seamlessly with my wedding planners and vendors, and I knew I would have nothing to stress about. They are professional but so friendly, and they genuinely care about every detail that goes into not just your wedding day, but also the entire planning process and overall experience. And THE FOOD! If you book the Gadsden House, you absolutely MUST use their catering. Our friends and family are still talking about how delicious the food was almost six months later! Let me assure you, it’s SO much for than your typical “wedding food”! Gadsden House was even more than we could have imagined, and we’re forever grateful to Kathleen and her team for making our wedding day the best ever!

Our wedding day at The Gadsden House with the King Street Hospitality Group team was exceptional. Kathleen's attention to detail and her professionalism make her an outstanding planner, but her ability to connect with her brides, her communication skills (answering every email within a few hours, on weekends, on vacation etc.), her transparency and above all her kindness is what makes her a special person. The entire KSHG team went above and beyond the day of our wedding. Lindsey and Cassidy were never far away. They held my flowers and my dress. They never let us have an empty glass or hand. They not only served myself and my new husband all day and night, but our families as well. They constantly checked on us, and didn't even bat an eye when a certain MOB spilled her champagne all over them (sorry, Lindsey!). Maybank Catering (a part of KSHG) knocked it out of the park. All of our guests raved about how excellent the food was. My husband and I love food, so it was very important to us that our food be super good. Everything was SO good, and don't worry! Kathleen and the team will be sure you eat on your wedding day. They were even kind of enough to pack up a whole spread of food and cake for us to enjoy after we got to our hotel. It is hard to put into words how sincerely grateful myself and my husband are for Kathleen, Lindsey and the KSHG team. They are the most service minded individuals I've ever met, and it brings me to tears to think about how the kindness they all extended us the day of our wedding and the months leading up to it. If you want a truly unique experience and you are considering choosing The Gadsden House, do it. My husband and I feel so fortunate that we stumbled upon The Gadsden House and the KSHG team. The Gadsden House truly was the perfect venue for a Charleston wedding. We had about 90 people flying in from New England so we wanted to make sure they had a real Charleston experience. Of course, no bride wants rain on her wedding day but we made the decision to have it somewhere that would not ruin our day if it did. Not only is the inside of the home absolutely stunning but the porches are the perfect place for pictures as well. Not only does this venue cover the basics (easy parking, MORE than enough space for 120+ guest wedding, indoor and outdoor space) but it also has a few extras that can't be compared to anything else. My girls and I all arrived to the Gadsden House at 9:30am to begin getting ready. When we arrived to the gorgeous bridal suite Ash&Co had already arrived and set up. It was perfect to be able to spend the whole day at the venue and not have to worry about transporting anyone after hair & make up. We went with their in house catering team and received nothing but rave reviews from everyone. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff made us feel amazing the entire night. I don't think there was a single moment that someone was not asking me if I needed anything. We accidentally picked bridge run weekend (sorry team) and everything was still absolutely flawless. It truly was the best day ever. I can't thank Kathleen and her team enough!

The Gadsden House was everything we wanted in a venue and more! It was the perfect historic venue with white walls, old wooden floors, fireplaces, a classic staricase, a wrap around Charleston style porch, and beautiful windows. A perfect clean, white canvas for any wedding style/color. Aside from the historic home itself the outdoor space is just as beautiful and made for the most intimate feeling ceremony and reception. But what really makes this venue, is the KSHG team! Kathleen, Sofie, and Lindsay are just as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside. They answered every email, helped with every decision, and always gave us the best suggestions. And we couldn't have had a better wedding day. They were the absolute best, helping with everything from getting a lipstick stain out of my dress, to putting the floral collar on our dog, to bustling my dress after photos, to packing up everything at the end of night and having it ready to go in our getaway transportation. Even our vendors we brought with us from NC commented on how helpful and kind Kathleen and her team were. The venue alone is dreamy, but along with the KSHG staff we had the easiest, most enjoyable wedding experience (planning to day of)!

The Gadsden House was the perfect venue for our destination wedding and Kathleen and her team made every moment of the planning process and our special day a dream. The venue itself is stunning and allows for so many various floor plan options. The back up rain plan for this venue is just as good as having it outside! We engaged Kathleen for full service planning, which was the best decision we made in the planning process. She handled everything from big things like booking vendors, managing timelines and budgets, to small things like ordering lots of various small decor that added up to align with our vision. On the day of, her staff was flawless - making sure our guests were without want and making sure my husband and I got to try every appetizer and cocktail that we had worked so hard to decide on over the months. They went above and to try to help make things easier since we were coming out of town. Her team also stayed with me through the day to help me with: my dress during photos, makeup touches and just general emotional support. There was a rain shower during our cocktail hour and her team did not flinch - they handled it with such grace and my guests were able to continue enjoying the cocktail hour without panic. I cannot say enough lovely things about this team and especially Kathleen. Our day could not have been so perfect without them.

Kathleen and her team did a beautiful job planning our rehearsal and wedding! As an out of state bride, having complete confidence in our planner was priceless. We will be forever grateful! Our friends and family continue to tell us and others how impressed they were by the service and professionalism. The Gadsden is a stunning venue and Kathleen truly understood our vision from the start. We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone getting married in Charleston!

This place was perfect. Not only is the venue beautiful, but Kathleen was absolutely amazing. We hired her as our day-of planner and she made sure that every detail was taken care of. She even made us plates of food to make sure we enjoyed our menu and came up to me asking if there was anything that I needed throughout the night. During my husband and I's first dance, his button ripped the front of my dress and she later came over with a sewing kit and stitched me up. My garter also snapped (that's what I get for ordering on amazon) and she took it and super glued and stapled. She really goes above and beyond and I am extremely happy with how everything was handled.

The Gadsden House was the perfect venue to host my fall wedding! I fell in love with the old southern charm meets modern style of the house and it is located downtown so very convenient for all of our guests traveling (this was a must for us when looking at wedding venues)! The bridal suite is icing on the cake, it is beautiful and perfect size for getting ready with your girls! Kathleen was amazing to work with and always responsive, and her team the day-of were so attentive! Our guests were full of glowing compliments of the venue and their staff. Thank you for making our wedding day a dream come true!

The Gadsden House was the perfect venue for my Southern wedding. The old-meets-modern style was a great blank slate for of all my décor ideas. We had the ceremony outdoors, cocktail hour inside, then flipped the courtyard for our stationed dinner. The courtyard was the perfect area for speeches and dancing, so that everyone could have a good view. Also, I cannot give enough praises to Kathleen as my wedding planner! She was so sweet and very responsive. Because she knows the Gadsden House so well, she knew how to best optimize the space and flow of the evening. She even had another day-of-coordinator that followed me to help me throughout the evening, touching up my makeup and getting me food/drinks! We were LOVED our experience with Kathleen and the King Street Hospitality Group, and cannot recommend this group enough!

What an amazing venue and team! The Gadsden House and courtyard are incredibly beautiful. Very reminiscent of Charleston and it's charm! Kathleen was such a joy to work with and made the entire wedding planning process easy and seamless. She brought my vision to life beautifully, was incredibly patient, responsive and detail-oriented. On our big day, she constantly checked in with us and our parents to make sure that we were all comfortable and enjoying ourselves. On top of that, she coordinated the entire evening for 185 guests, and it was flawless. I can't thank Kathleen enough or recommend the Gadsden House more!

The Gadsden House was the absolute perfect venue for my wedding reception! It was so beautiful, we felt comfortable toning down the florals and decorations to let the house shine. Kathleen was an absolute dream to work with, and her and my planner Chauncey (Bouquets and Bow ties) worked so well together! The room upstairs to get ready in was so great and big enough for photos and all of my girls and moms to get ready. I could NOT have asked for a better venue and group to work with. Their catering company King Street Bev pulled out all the stops and was also incredible. My husband was feeling a little tired from the day and needed some coffee, which they didn’t have on site, so they had someone run across the street and pick him up a coffee from a coffee shop. They went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. My dad was BLOWN away with their customer service and the staff that was involved. We LOVED our experience with the Gadsden House.

Our wedding at The Gadsem House was everything I imagined and more because of Kathleen and her amazing team! Not only is the historic house and courtyard the most beautiful, but the entire process was easy and stress free from start to finish because of her professionalism and transparency, which helped guide our decisions at every step! The Gadsden House is the perfect venue to book for a wedding in Charleston. Beautiful, historic and downtown/easy to get to! We were married there last weekend and it was so lovely from start to finish. Kathleen is an absolute dream coordinator and from the very beginning (over a year ago) she worked with us to bring our vision to life. I truly could not have asked for a better, kinder, smarter and more perfect person to work with. She is amazing. The venue is large, but the courtyard felt intimate for our dinner and ceremony for 92 people. We loved that there was an option to do everything within the house, too, since weather can be tricky at times. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to have their wedding in Charleston. You won't be disappointed!

As soon as I toured the Gadsden House I knew it was the venue for me! All of our guests were traveling from out of town so we wanted something as Charleston-esque as possible and the Gadsden House was perfect (not to mention so convenient being right downtown!) Kathleen, the venue coordinator, was responsive to e-mails at all times and so beyond helpful. The blank slate allows for versatility in whatever layout you choose for your day, which we loved. Perhaps one of my most favorite aspects is the gorgeous bridal suite that they have on site--it is the perfect place to get ready with your bridesmaids. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful venue!!

Picture perfect venue. So Charleston!! The second my mother and I walked in to tour the space I knew it was THE place for our reception with the clean white walls and gorgeous crystal chandeliers. All the wedding guests have not been able to stop talking about how stunning the venue is. The large porches overlooking the courtyard are so nice during a reception. The spacious, beautiful bridal suite is amazing for getting ready with your bridal party. Kathleen, the event manager, was extremely accommodating and easy to work with. So happy we had our reception at The Gadsden House!

The Gadsden house is the essence of historical elegance and charm in the heart of Charleston! The venue is perfect for a ceremony on site in the courtyard with full access to the beautiful home. The 3rd floor bridal suite is stunning but warm (even in October)- I had to ask staff to turn the air down during dinner when guests started to complain...apparently it wasn't turned down earlier because name cards would blow or candles would blow out?! Our on site event planner Kathleen was a true professional and brought knowledge and value. My one critique is the last 1-2 hours of the night seemed to be focused on packing up rather than guest satisfaction. I had to bustle up my own dress with safety pins after it fell down and pass out my own glow sticks to guests when no one could be found to assist me. I really wish the house and all decor would have been packed up after guests left at 11 pm. The house was decorated beautifully and lots of effort was made. I would recommend the venue to anyone. Thank u!

Our wedding couldn't have been more perfect! Kathleen was AMAZING to work with and the whole staff was great! The historic home is the perfect setting for a wedding and provides your guests with something new around every corner. The bridal suite upstairs is perfect for your party to get ready. We are so pleased and thankful for this house! It made our wedding dreams come true.

What a fabulous place! We had our rehearsal dinner at the Gadsden House on April 1, 2016. It was casual--we had oysters, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the patio and downstairs around 6, and then ate dinner upstairs (used one room for the buffet and the other for tables). We had 72 people at the dinner, all in one room. We had a slide show of the bride and groom running in one room downstairs. It rained, but the tent over the patio was perfect and people were out there and on the porch the whole time. Music system throughout the house worked beautifully with our music from an Ipad. The service was seamless, unobtrusive, and helpful (even when the thunder and lightning came mid dinner!) We followed dinner with a welcome party, with more cocktails, dessert, food, oysters, with lots of people both inside and out, including under the tent. It was all around an incredible night--the perfect start for our wedding weekend!
