Our New Year’s Eve wedding was so beautiful, the historic Cromaine Hall was the perfect setting for the night!! The staff did an incredible job of supporting us along the way, especially on our wedding day! We always had food on our table and a drink in our hand thanks to Janet and Judy. Our rehearsal and ceremony went smoothly with Callie’s help. The food was incredible, and our friends and family haven’t stopped raving about how perfect everything was! Seriously, Best. Day. Ever!

Just had my daughter's wedding here on Sunday. The Waldenwoods staff was wonderful to work with - patient, accommodating and very professional. They are pros at what they do! The night of our wedding the food was delicious and we got many compliments on how good everything was. Our banquet coordinator Janet was amazing and patient with several questions we had in regards to our timeline. Highly recommend this venue!

We had our wedding at the Lakeview tent in august. It was absolutely perfect. I got so many complaints on how beautiful everything turned out. I love the tent because it’s a clean slate. You can make your vision come true. We used many vendors they recommended & they turned out to be wonderful too. They were very helpful through the whole process & answered all my questions in a timely matter. Only thing I wish was they had more non chicken entrees that were included with no extra charge. If you want anything other than chicken it’s going to cost you. Other than that, no complaints!

Waldenwoods was the last place we looked at & I instantly fell in love. It is such a charming, romantic venue. Being able to get married outside in front of a beautiful lake then getting to party the night away inside. The staff their was wonderful! Went above & beyond to make our day perfect. Was always able to get ahold of them pre wedding if we needed something. & we were able to get ready on-site which was marvelous. The bridal suite was great. They even provided lunch for us! The food for dinner was AMAZING!!! Not to mention the price was just right. I could not be more pleased with waldenwoods & its staff!

The Cromaine Lodge and Lake Walden are absolutely beautiful in the fall. I was looking for a scenic place to have an outdoor ceremony during fall, and Waldenwoods absolutely fit the bill. They are very experienced with hosting weddings and were very helpful during the planning process. They provided us great information – including a list of local vendors that they regularly work with and recommend. Most of our vendors came off this list and we were pleased with all of them. The event staff was great on our wedding day – Adrianna and Jenna made sure our processional at the ceremony went smoothly. Janet and the rest of the bartenders and reception staff did a great job throughout the night. So many of our guests commented on the beauty and atmosphere of the venue as well as the delicious food! If you are looking for a stunning, all-inclusive venue, I would highly recommend Waldenwoods.

Waldenwoods in Howell. This place was was amazing to work with! The food was amazing. We had a sweetheart table that was full of appetizers so we had a chance to have some and they checked in with us often. They answered all of my questions very quickly during planning and let us make the night our own. My only tiny, tiny complaint is they don’t keep in touch unless you reach out. We had no reminder on when payments where due or when to schedule our rehearsal and they do one tasting instead of a private one. Which I understand but because the menu is so big they don’t have everything to taste. Over all the staff was AMAZING!

This is a beautiful venue with so much to offer. My husband and I got married in front of the lake with our reception in the tent and many of our guests said it was one of the most elegant weddings they’ve been to! We were so blessed to be able to have our wedding here. Also, their food is SO good. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful venue with so much to offer. My husband and I got married in front of the lake with our reception in the tent and many of our guests said it was one of the most elegant weddings they’ve been to! We were so blessed to be able to have our wedding here. Also, their food is SO good. Highly recommend.

I loved working with Waldenwoods. They were very accommodating for everything we wanted for our wedding. They worked with us on a special brunch menu and that meant a lot to us. Waldenwoods made our wedding an absolute dream. Their team is amazing to work with, the food was wonderful (many guests said it was the best wedding meal they'd ever had!), and the on-site lodging was extremely valuable to us. Waldenwoods was the perfect place for us to get married. First of all, the setting was amazing, with the lake and all the trees, as well as the beautiful character of the Cromaine Lodge with all its windows and lighted branches. All of the food was delicious, and there were so many great options to choose from when crafting the menu. They were so accommodating of dietary restrictions, even my vegan friend with a chickpea allergy (she said their vegan lasagna was amazing). Plus, their Personal Touch service is great so you can focus on yourself instead of setup, and no one has to stay late to clean up after the reception. They even have a fair amount of decor items that you can rent, which I hadn't seen elsewhere. Having onsite lodging was another bonus, although it is someone rustic, but we love that. We ended up renting one of the villas for the night before and night of the wedding. With its spiral staircase, fireplace, and indoor hottub, it was the perfect getaway and so convenient. Fair warning: there are multiple consultants working at this place, and they share a communal email address. You may not always be talking to the same person, so sometimes you have to remind them of details. The person who does your rehearsal also does your ceremony coordination, so there's at least that continuity. I kept notes and communicated mostly through email so it wasn't a big deal to me, but could be to some. Finally, the cost for this place was an amazing value, and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes much more expensive as word gets out about how great their weddings are. We got so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the venue is.

My husband and I were married here in October 2021 at the Cromaine Lodge. Venue is beautiful with a lakeside ceremony that was breath taking. The lodge had so much space, we had about 120 guests, and the dance floor was perfect! Food was fantastic and very accommodating for dietary restrictions and allergies. Both my husband and I and the bridal party got ready onsite which was something we both wanted.

We booked the Sunshine lodge for our guests, and almost every one of them had trouble reaching the venue to provide their credit card information and book the room. The voicemail was usually full so there was no way to leave one. Aside from that, they were really great to work with and made the day beautiful and everything we wanted it to be!

Overall, our experience at Waldenwoods far exceeded our expectations and our wedding day was pretty perfect. We were blown away from the beginning with how well Waldenwoods was prepared to organize and execute beautiful weddings. From the initial meetings, to the very fancy and detailed tasting dinner, everything leading up to the wedding made things easy and stress-free. We were blown away by how much Waldenwoods was willing to work with us during the pandemic. They helped us reschedule our wedding twice due to the pandemic and there were no ramifications for this. In addition, Waldenwoods took other COVID precautions to make sure the guests felt safe. Some of my favorite things about getting married at Waldenwoods were the diverse options for reception add-ons to make the day extra special, such as the bridal cottage, outdoor ceremony, and beautiful decorations that came with the Cromaine Lodge. The property was beautifully maintained and getting married outside under the pergola was perfect. There were also a lot of great spots for a first look and bridal party/family pictures. Regarding the service, the staff did a wonderful job helping to ensure that the event ran smoothly, and they went above and beyond to make us feel well taken care of and special. Overall, the food was very good. In particular, we really liked the salad and appetizers. We appreciated how many choices there were when selecting entrée options. It was truly a day we will never forget, and we thank Waldenwoods for all they did to help us make this memory. There were a few things that we were disappointed about, and that we believe could be addressed to make the wedding experience of future couples extra special. During our ceremony, loud pop music could be heard playing out on the lake/beach. We were told that the staff was going to attend to this, but it never happened and created a distraction during the ceremony. The bridal cottage that we were getting ready in was very dirty and parts of the reception hall never got cleaned prior to our wedding start time. We felt very similarly about the Sunshine Lodge. Much of it was not clean and multiple guests reported problems with their room, including not being given the right key, burned out light bulbs, and uncleaned linens. check-in. There were a few issues with the dinner as well. Mostly, we felt that it took a long time to serve the food and the staff did not serve our prioritized tables first. Our parents were actually served last, despite that we indicated otherwise. We were told that there were not enough staff, which did not seem like a great excuse. We also felt like the portions were small, especially the chicken dish. Further, for guests with allergies they were not given a substitute food, rather they were just given less food. For instance, we had multiple guests with garlic and onion allergies; rather than make potatoes without garlic and onion, the chef did not give them any starch, which is not what we paid for.

Overall, our experience at Waldenwoods far exceeded our expectations and our wedding day was pretty perfect. We were blown away from the beginning with how well Waldenwoods was prepared to organize and execute beautiful weddings. From the initial meetings, to the very fancy and detailed tasting dinner, everything leading up to the wedding made things easy and stress-free. We were blown away by how much Waldenwoods was willing to work with us during the pandemic. They helped us reschedule our wedding twice due to the pandemic and there were no ramifications for this. In addition, Waldenwoods took other COVID precautions to make sure the guests felt safe. Some of my favorite things about getting married at Waldenwoods were the diverse options for reception add-ons to make the day extra special, such as the bridal cottage, outdoor ceremony, and beautiful decorations that came with the Cromaine Lodge. The property was beautifully maintained and getting married outside under the pergola was perfect. There were also a lot of great spots for a first look and bridal party/family pictures. Regarding the service, the staff did a wonderful job helping to ensure that the event ran smoothly, and they went above and beyond to make us feel well taken care of and special. Overall, the food was very good. In particular, we really liked the salad and appetizers. We appreciated how many choices there were when selecting entrée options. It was truly a day we will never forget, and we thank Waldenwoods for all they did to help us make this memory. There were a few things that we were disappointed about, and that we believe could be addressed to make the wedding experience of future couples extra special. During our ceremony, loud pop music could be heard playing out on the lake/beach. We were told that the staff was going to attend to this, but it never happened and created a distraction during the ceremony. Waldenwoods was perfect in every way. The venue is stunning. The staff seemed like longtime friends right away! Every phone call and question was handled with kindness. They covered every little detail. The food was absolutely delicious. The wedding ceremony and reception were flawless as the staff went above and beyond what we could have ever expected. Several guests also stayed in the lodge. I have no complaints whatsoever and nothing but gratitude for the phenomenal experience our family had using Waldenwoods. We highly recommend this venue.

My husband and I unfortunately chose to book Waldenwoods as a venue for a delayed wedding reception for June of next year due to Covid cancelling our original wedding in Traverse City in June 2020. After a few months of ups and downs with our wedding and personal life due to Covid we decided for multiple reasons that we were not able to continue with the reception next year at Waldenwoods. When we contacted the property to explain the situation we were left with a response of pretty much “sorry, nothing we can do. good luck”. Given the situation we were willing to be flexible but were hoping the property would have been more compassionate and understanding in these times. We have sent multiple emails and made multiple calls over the past 3 weeks and have yet to receive a response from someone from upper management. The lack of communication, professionalism and overall message from this venue is astounding. My husband and I are in businesses were we are forced to be flexible with customers due to Covid everyday. More importantly though we understand a customer is not just a number, they are a relationship and during these times, we need to take care of them. If you are thinking of planning a wedding in the next few years, stay far far away from Waldenwoods. You will end up being a contract, not a bride.

From the planners, to the guard shack greeters, to the chef, maintenance , and wait staff, we were so impressed. The food was great and the tent turned out to be such a special place to celebrate. We had our wedding with Waldenwoods on October 5, 2019 and our experience was nothing short of amazing. During the planning stages, the office always got back to me within a day of me emailing or calling with a full answer. They were all so flexible on any questions or concerns that we had about the venue and really rolled with the punches. On wedding day, they were so supportive and made sure everything went smoothly and that my husband and I didn’t have to worry about anything! The wait staff were also amazing in the fact that they made sure that we had food and drink all night since we were so busy with our guests. My advice? Spend the extra money for the “personal touch” service, where Waldenwoods sets up and tears down all of your decor - SO worth it. My main complaint? This was just as much on me, but I never asked who the main contact person was for the night. This wasn’t a huge deal, but at one point my videographer had a question and I had NO clue who to direct him to. Seriously, book with Waldenwoods - you won’t regret it!!!!!

For us the location was perfect for accessibly for our families out of the Flint and Detroit area, and the size of the hall was perfect for our guest count (about 200). We chose Waldenwoods as our venue primarily because the Cromaine room was so beautiful, fit our personalities and in general was amazing. We loved that we hardly had to make any decorations. The lake setting for the ceremony was also incredible. We also chose Waldenwoods because of the on-site lodgings that were available to our many out of town guests. The employees at the venue were on top of things and were fine with us upgrading our bar to be only craft beer. Anne, the owner, was great, and we appreciated how she had all of the details handled at our final details meeting. The event coordinators had everything taken care of at our rehearsal and day of, so everything worked very smoothly at the ceremony. The food was fine, but the tasting process was really disappointing. There is just one tasting per year and it was too close to our wedding date to decide our food before ordering our invitations. Additionally we really didn’t get to taste very many options at the tasting. Only a few things we had at our wedding we had tried beforehand. Some other things were frustrating along the way: we were often asked the same questions several times throughout the planning process, such as if we wanted the top tier of our cake saved. We also had issues getting the keys to the lodges the Friday before the wedding. That experience was really stressful but eventually worked out. Overall it was a pricey venue, but really beautiful.

Attended a wedding at Waldenwoods this past weekend in the Cromaine Lodge. The setting was beautiful and the food was delicious. However, I am writing this review from a wheelchair access perspective and unfortunately, it was terrible. My husband is in a manual wheelchair and there was no clear ramp access into the building. There were paved walkways but each one we found ended with one or two steps = NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE! All guests had to climb a flight of stairs to use the regular restrooms (this is also an issue) but my husband had to go into a cramped corner \"wheelchair accessible\" bathroom that is located inside the kitchen (which was extremely busy as they were catering the wedding we were attending). Several waiters had to lift their trays of food over his head so he could wheel into the bathroom as they were leaving the kitchen! My husband has been in a wheelchair for 14 years, we know from first-hand experience that older venues are not perfect when it comes to wheelchair access. However, there is no excuse for the lack of accessibility at this popular award-winning wedding venue. The American's with Disabilities Act was passed in 1990, and I find it hard to believe that Waldenwoods has not managed to find sufficient budget in 29 years to create a small accessible entrance and wheelchair friendly bathrooms (even two would be great) for wedding guests. I have never left this type of review and we are not lawsuit-type people either, I just felt these issues had to be pointed out, especially after I noticed Waldenwoods has wheelchair access checked off as a venue feature. I strongly disagree! Thank you.

The American's with Disabilities Act was passed in 1990, and I find it hard to believe that Waldenwoods has not managed to find sufficient budget in 29 years to create a small accessible entrance and wheelchair friendly bathrooms (even two would be great) for wedding guests. I have never left this type of review and we are not lawsuit-type people either, I just felt these issues had to be pointed out, especially after I noticed Waldenwoods has wheelchair access checked off as a venue feature. o\tOverall, our experience working with Waldenwoods was positive. The space truly is beautiful and the staff is very experienced. Our ceremony and reception took place in the Cromaine Lodge with no break in between. After the ceremony, the Waldenwoods staff efficiently arranged a photo of all the guests outside the lodge. While everyone was outside, the staff removed all the chairs and made the space ready for cocktail hour in under 5 minutes. It really showed their coordination and experience on our big day. Across the board the food was amazing, from the appetizers to the entrees. Every guest said they loved their meal. Also arranging the specifics of our wedding was a breeze. Whenever we called or emailed, we received a prompt response from their staff. We also received an updated contract within hours of any changes to our guest list or services provided. The overall price per plate was a good deal considering everything that was included in our baseline package. Some of the add ons (white glove service, upgraded bar package, chair covers, etc.) did seem a bit pricey, but I think that can be said for almost every wedding venue so it did not bother us. Our only major complaint was how Waldenwoods handles on site housing. If a bride and groom want to reserve the friendship lodge, they need to arrange their guests’ room assignments. Considering the money required to reserve the lodge, we struggled to understand why a bride and groom were required to take on the responsibility of hotel manager and concierge. On top of all the standard wedding planning, this really added on a lot of unwanted work and stress. We would have been much happier if Waldenwoods included this in the services they provided. Additionally, some of our relatives had a difficult time getting into the cottage they had reserved. They arrived late on Friday night, before the wedding on Saturday. When they arrived at the front gate, no one was at the gate to meet them. When they called the front desk several times, no one picked up the phone. They had to lift up the gate themselves in order to enter the grounds. Unfortunately, there was not much clear signage or good lighting so they had to drive around for 20-30 minutes before they were able to find their cottage. It would have been very helpful to have someone on site who could direct them to the cottage like they said there would be. So overall, the staff and management were amazing and we were very happy with their services and professionalism throughout our interactions. When it comes to on site housing, there is definitely room for improvement.

Waldenwoods is gorgeous and our guests loved everything about our wedding. It was super convenient to have the friendship lodge for a good portion of our guests to stay at. The wedding day as a whole was perfect, food excellent, and all our needs met. The only down side with waldenwoods is the staff, they are all super friendly and nice but they don’t communicate well. Several times during the wedding planning I got calls telling me I needed to book or submit information that I had already done. Not very reassuring for someone planning from Out of state...I had booked a room for my groom and I for the night of the wedding at sunshine lodge while all our guests stayed at friendship, we even confirmed our room at our final details appointment, come the night of the wedding when I asked for our room key they had no room saved for us. Thankfully they had an open room they could give us. We had two wedding coordinators one on each side with the groomsmen and bridesmaids I had told the one coordinator the groomsmen were lined up wrong and if I could see the list cause I couldn’t remember, and she told me the other coordinator was with them even though I saw her not with them, I told her twice they were lined up wrong and that I just wanted to see the list so I could go fix It, she assured me again the other coordinator was with them.....and my bridal party walked down the aisle not In the order we had planned, which was annoying to me but not a huge deal. I left instructions for them on how to set up the venue for the wedding and had to correct many things before the actual ceremony started. As long as you the bride pays attention to all their work and you tell them to correct it they will, and overall the little details didn’t matter because it’s not about the details. It just would have been nice to not have to double check everything the day of. That being said we didn’t hear a single bad thing from any of our guests or family and waldenwoods gave us the best wedding celebration!

The setting is absolutely beautiful and is a huge reason why we chose this venue. We had our ceremony and reception in the lakeview tent. The food was decent. The drink selection is good (we upgraded our bar package). My bridesmaids and I took advantage of the lodge to get ready in. It was perfect! I definitely recommend this. I also highly recommend renting the friendship lodge. The service is very sub-par. I was a very low maintenance bride but I was not impressed in the least by their (lack of) attention to myself and my husband on our big day. I did not get asked once if I needed anything. I paid extra for the wedding day coordinator. I did not see her once until it was time to walk down the aisle. From my perspective, all she did was tell us when to walk - you shouldn’t need to pay extra for that. I had specific requests (like folding napkins a certain way, having the tent open, etc.) that weren’t met until I spoke up before and during the reception. Our biggest concern was how they charged my card after the event claiming damage to the property that may or may not have been a result of our party. I received an email from them the day after our wedding stating the charges - close to another thousand dollars! No phone call our anything. Very unprofessional! So, look out for charges that you did not consent to. I’ve chosen to focus on the wonderful bits of our day over the negatives.. but I still find myself upset with how this was handled.

Waldenwoods is a beautiful venue. If you are looking for a vintage look that is absolutely magical this is the place. The food was great, the staff professional and the grounds and buildings beautiful. We looked and many places and my daughter wanted a smallest wedding with a cozy warm feeling and Waldenwoods fit the bill. The lodge has beautiful view of the lake, where we had the ceremony by the lake and the reception in the lodge. If you are looking for a personal tasting experience you will be disappointed Waldenwoods does tasting parties once a year. The downside to these is that you might not get to taste all the food on their menu before you event. Having said this all the food we sampled at the tasting was excellent and I don't think we could have made a bad choice. The lodge is gorgeous and needs very little decorating. There are vines w/lights in the ceiling, five fireplaces and huge windows on each side of the room. The bathrooms are upstairs and one single handicap restroom near the kitchen on the first floor. We did use the bridal suite upstairs which is helpful when you have a lot of women trying to get ready or need to go freshen up during your event. The only problem we had was the a/c stopped working and it got quite hot. Also we were suppose to get champagne for mimosa but it never showed up. The other con to Waldenwoods that I feel is important to mention is that they charge a 20% gratuity on the whole bill. When we questioned if this was just on the food and bar they said, \"No it's on everything. It's actually more like a service charge.\" So we were charges an extra 20% on our ceremony site, the bridal suite, the groom's room, extra tables, and the linens, chargers and chairs we rented from the vendor that Waldenwoods required us to rent from. So just be aware this additional cost can add quite a bit to the final bill. Overall, this a beautiful venue and it was a magical day.

Waldenwoods was absolutely amazing! The grounds are gorgeous, the food is awesome, and the staff is outstanding. I got married on the front lawn by the lake and had my reception in the Cromaine building and everything was perfect. The grounds made for GORGEOUS pictures, too! We used the bridal suite to get ready in and it was so great to be able to be on site and watch people from the windows as they arrived for the ceremony. The staff were so accommodating and pleasant, even when I asked the same question a million times because I was nervous. They take great care of their couples and the guests. I highly recommend Waldenwoods!

The day of the wedding the staff was more than great, we had amazing service. He help you with almost everything. They are very willing to answer any and all questions. I loved working with them. I really liked how they took care of alot in house, it made the whole wedding planning process simple. They were very flexible with last minute timeline changes. we rented a cabin they have on the grounds and my guest stayed in a house they have on the grounds (walking distance). We also had breakfast there in the morning which was amazing (much needed). And again at the breakfast, all the staff was awesome.

Now I know I used to work at WW (and would still if I didn't move so far away), and I have a rule of not mixing work and personal (so I never thought any of my children would have their wedding day at WW) however, I've always imparted Anne's uncanny knack for helping guide couples in creating at WW their vision for a memorable life event during my tours of the facility for 3 years. And to witness the transformation during my daughter's journey from being unnerved and unsettled that her fiance's large family did not fit her vision of an intimate wedding, to Anne transforming a guest count of just over 100 to a warm, relaxed, profound, and enjoyable day for her is beyond words as a mother. She turned her fear of loving deep, rich fall colors into the perfect backdrop for a June lakeside wedding, through listening and gentle suggestions, and assisted in shaping the ceremony into the intimate moment she envisioned too. And on the other side of the dynamic duo in the office is Lisa - always bringing the smiles and the happy with her enthusiastic and contagious positivism. We requested the tent structure, but it was not until it was booked that we found out that you had to have \"plastic\" drink ware. I had to negotiate a price to get actual \"glass\". Unfortunately the wedding was cancelled and The contract was clear about no refunds, but I tried to negotiate a transfer of the deposit money (almost $5,000) to use for a small afternoon function for special needs young adults, and I got no response to my request. I was ignored. Terrible business practices. I would never recommend this venue.

Waldenwoods is a beautiful venue and the day of turned out really great. I didn't have to worry at all. Their level of professionalism on the day of the event was fantastic. Leading up to the wedding, we had some hiccups: they messed up the date of our tasting (but did do their best to reschedule and fix it) and they booked one of my friends at one of the cottages without calling us first.. they called us later on (after I already knew they had confirmed her reservation). We had been asking about availability of the cottages, and we hadn't been allowed to book anything until 6 weeks before the event. My friend was given first dibs ultimately, and not us, which was a bit frustrating. Not a huge deal, but seemed like there was some miscommunication with the main office. Overall, if I had the choice I would definitely get married there again, just know that from an administrative perspective you will want to stay on top of them to ensure you're having the best experience.

Waldenwoods was the perfect venue for our wedding. The grounds around the venue are beautiful and made for some great photos. There was a clerical error and the hall was double booked. We took the option of moving our wedding to the tent by the lake, which in the end worked out even better for our brunch wedding. We were given many extras to make up for the error which were greatly appreciated. The food was amazing and all the guests loved the tent! I would not change a thing. The staff was amazingly helpful and accommodating.

They always answered questions leading up to the wedding enthusiastically (even though you know they've answered the same questions with every bride). They helped so much with the ceremony and made it run so smooth. They were SO Good with the little ring bearers and made sure they got out the door and down the aisle. They helped so much with the ceremony and made it run so smooth. They were SO Good with the little ring bearers and made sure they got out the door and down the aisle. The bartenders and all the food staff were wonderful. Everyone really went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us.

I can't say enough wonderful things about our experience planning a wedding at Waldenwoods. From our initial meeting to the wedding day, the staff at Waldenwoods made us feel as if we were the only couple getting married at their venue all year. The staff was attentive to us the entire year leading up to the wedding answering any questions that we had (big or small), we were able to personalize the venue to make it unique to us, and the food was delicious. I've heard that wedding days are supposed to be stressful, but I don't know anything about that, because Anne Graham and the rest of the staff at Waldenwoods ensured that everything went off without a hitch!! \r\rI also have to mention that we won an amazing HONEYMOON through Waldenwoods at their bridal show! Waldenwoods hosts a bridal show every year and I'm SO glad that I attended as I can no longer say that \"I never win anything\". My husband and I are elated that we are able to enjoy a 7 night all inclusive trip to the beaches of Riviera Maya! We are so appreciative of such a generous gift from Waldenwoods and still can't believe that we won! We are just so thankful for Waldenwoods not only helping us host our dream wedding but have given us a dream honeymoon as well! Here's what it said:\r\r\"noun\r1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.\r2. a person who gives assistance.\r3.a person who is on good terms with another.\"\r\rThe word \"friend\" fits perfectly.\r\rNow, if you have read this far you must be curious, and perhaps even be searching for a venue for your event. Of course, it must be beautiful and have a sense of history about it. Good food and great service is essential. A HUGH plus, and the most difficult to find, is a group...a team...where every member puts out their personal best because they care about you. Waldenwoods is that place; are those people. This place is absolutely stunning and unique. It gives you the feel of being up north, but upscale. The food and service were both great on our wedding day. They were very prompt to answer my emails and were very easy to work with. Even when I continued to add on more and more services as we got closer to the date. We had our bridal party stay in the Friendship lodge and would not have changed it for the world. Don't let the looks deceive you, it was a perfect place to hang out with all of your closest friends and was an easy walk after the reception. The service staff was great and friendly. I do not have a bad word to say about them. They made my dream wedding day come true.

When looking for an outdoor wedding location my Mom mentioned Waldenwoods to me because she had seen it driving North on 23. We went in for a walk around to check out and grounds and see what they offer for outdoor weddings and I fell in love with their Sunshine Garden tent wedding location. Right off lake Walden, with the beautiful scenery and rustic buildings and atmosphere.\r\rWe picked late June knowing the weather may be gorgeous but could also be wet. Turns out we got the shorter end of the stick when it came to the weather. It was 60 degrees, strong winds and rained all day long. Everyone kept joking that it was the hurricane of June 27th. This never once affected our wedding day and how much fun we had, we wouldn't change it for anything. The staff did everything they could possibly do to make our guests comfortable considering the elements. Our ceremony was moved from the outdoor lake front pergola to the reception tent with ease, and other then the high winds you would've never known it was raining while underneath the tent. It kept us all warm and dry. We somehow got lucky enough that our reception was ended with the most beautiful sunset over the lake. \r\rAll our guests were raving about the location, the service and the food. The food was amazing! People are still talking about how much they loved the food! We highly recommend the Cromaine chicken and potatoes au gratin. \r\rWe also had our rehearsal dinner at Waldenwoods, food was also amazing! The staff was very helpful and watchful if we needed anything at all. \r\rWe recommend Waldenwoods to anyone looking for a private, rustic, vintage romantic wedding location. This place has it all!\r\rYou can even rent the lodges or cottages, makes getting ready and packing up after the reception a breeze. The bridal party and I stayed in the A Frame cottage (sleeps 12), it was perfect for a girls night the night before the wedding, and you can also spend time swimming at the lake. We invited friends and family to stay in the Friendship lodge with us the night of the wedding, sleeps around 40 people and has 19 rooms. Perfect for gathering after the reception for a fire and roasting marshmallows. \r\rThanks again to the staff at Waldenwoods for making our wedding everything we could've ever hoped for and more!

Waldenwoods is just okay. Nothing fancy or spectacular. It is a wedding farm that pumps out a lot of weddings a year. The office staff (Tracey, namely) said they would be attentive, responsive and flexible since we were planning our wedding from out of state. Yeah....that didn't happen. Each time I called, I was told a different answer.\r\rMake sure you read every letter in your contract. The office staff clearly have a lot going on and when you call they have no idea who you are or what wedding you're inquiring about. So, they make mistakes and do not take the time to look up your event.\r\rWatch out for Ann, the Director. She's not personable, attentive or friendly. On the day of our wedding, Ann told my uncle he could not stand in the shade where the bridal party was walking and instructed him to watch the ceremony from somewhere else. My uncle was undergoing chemotherapy and could not be in the sun. I was PISSED when I heard about this the next day. The Director, rude to the guests. Unbelievable.\r\rWaldenwoods said they would work with the DJ to set up the correct power supply. Yeah, right?! My uncle had to give the DJ an extension cord and power strip because Waldenwoods was ill-equipped. Waldenwoods staff also stole my uncle's step-ladder and then said they didn't see it.

It was very easy to get in touch with someone and questions were answered quickly. The service the day of the wedding was extraordinary. All of our guests raved about how friendly and helpful the servers were and how great the food was. We were working on a budget and the value was far beyond the price. We had 160+ guests and with a premium bar option, ceremony space, bridal room, and gourmet coffee bar we paid around $13,500. I would recommend Waldenwoods to anyone who was looking for a historical and rustic wedding. Though the weather did not allow for an outdoor wedding, the indoor space made the experience more intimate and they transformed the space wonderfully.

The banquet hall is beautifully rustic and classy. The lodge has very nice rooms and several cottages for larger groups. Our wedding was in March with snow on the ground, but there are other amenities along with a beautiful lake that can surely be enjoyed in warmer weather. All of my guests had a wonderful time and we received many compliments on all aspects of our wedding. I would highly recommend this venue for your wedding. It can be tailored to your taste and size. We had the most amazing wedding for our daughter at Waldenwoods this fall. It is a very unique, peaceful, warm and comfortable venue to have not just a reception but a wedding event. We not only had the reception there we had guests fill up both the Friendship and Sunshine houses and a few stayed in some of the onsite cottages. These are historic buildings on the site looking out over the beautiful lake that your guests spend the night in. We had a bonfire out in front of one of the buildings when the reception was over and the party continued into the wee hours of the night. The next morning we had a delicious brunch at the reception hall for our guests to visit together one last time. I didn't know anyone who had a wedding at Waldenwoods, nor had I heard of it before to give me any feedback so we chose the place based on reviews and our own impressions. I have to say I was a bit nervous about this. The staff was amazing, always answering my often picky questions. I seemed to call constantly with another question and one of the girls or the manager Ann always took the time to give me the information I needed. The night of the wedding I didn't even notice the staff at the event, they made sure that everything ran so smoothly and I didn't have a wedding planner at the event that night. The food was very good with generous portions. We used some of their recommended vendors and we were very happy with them as well. We were able to bring our own dessert which was a great option so we had a very large sweets table that we used the left overs for our bonfire later at night. We were also able to get a local pizza joint to deliver us pizza late at night to eat at our late night party. We didn't not have our ceremony at the venue as my daughter was married at our church, however I did see it set up on the water at several visits and it seemed like a beautiful option. We were so lucky the night of the wedding be cause it was an amazing sunset and the photographer was able to get some absolutely breathtaking pictures out by the lake. Since it was such a nice evening we were able to open the doors by the dance floor and people were dancing out on the porch in the moonlite. If you want a unique, one of a kind, memorable, wedding event I would highly recommend you take a look at Waldenwoods. We could not have been happier and as so many people said at the wedding \" You set the bar really, really high.\"

From the planning 8 months prior to the very day of my wedding, Waldenwoods staff was extremely professional, accommodating and always available for my constant questions. Thank you Sheila, Tracy and Anne, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few others... it's apparent each of them enjoy what they do and really go out of their way to make families feel welcome and special. The beautiful atmosphere the Cromaine building provides is like none other; so quaint and with such character and beauty especially with the Lake view. Many of my family and friends commented on the attentive wait staff. I have a family member who likes his meat well done. The carver catered to our Uncle's request and took the time to run to the kitchen to cook his portion well-done. Wow.. now that's great customer service. My husband and I were treated like royalty, having our meals portioned to our liking and drinks served throughout the night. We were fortunate enough to not have to hunt for other reception halls as I really wanted Waldenwoods due to it's close proximity to our home. I'm so fortunate and thankful for their superb service. I'm not sure how it compares to other reception halls in regards to cost, but we agreed, it was worth every dime. Guests will forget certain events of the night, but they won't forget the type of service they received, nor the taste of the food. I would definitely recommend Waldenwoods for your special celebration.

Thank you Sheila, Tracy and Anne, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few others... it's apparent each of them enjoy what they do and really go out of their way to make families feel welcome and special. The beautiful atmosphere the Cromaine building provides is like none other; so quaint and with such character and beauty especially with the Lake view. Many of my family and friends commented on the attentive wait staff. I have a family member who likes his meat well done. The carver catered to our Uncle's request and took the time to run to the kitchen to cook his portion well-done. Wow.. now that's great customer service. My husband and I were treated like royalty, having our meals portioned to our liking and drinks served throughout the night. We were fortunate enough to not have to hunt for other reception halls as I really wanted Waldenwoods due to it's close proximity to our home. I'm so fortunate and thankful for their superb service. I'm not sure how it compares to other reception halls in regards to cost, but we agreed, it was worth every dime. Guests will forget certain events of the night, but they won't forget the type of service they received, nor the taste of the food. I would definitely recommend Waldenwoods for your special celebration.

My experience with Walden Woods was nothing short of amazing. My wedding was perfect, a night I will certainly never forget because of Walden Woods . They cover all their bases and then some . There is nothing that they were not able to accommodate me with . They thought of so many details that as a busy bride I couldn't have . I truly love this venue and so did my guests. If you have your wedding at Walden Woods is will be magical !

Our wedding was this last May and it was the most unforgettable day. We owe allot of that to Waldenwoods for being so organized and making the day flow nicely.\r\rIt rained right before the ceremony and about 20 workers from waldenwoods went out and wiped down all the seats so we still were still able to get married out by the lake since they knew how important that was to me and my fiancé.\r\rI would recommend this venue to anyone. They are very professional and will go the extra mile to make your day forgettable no matter what obstacles may come your way :)

Waldenwoods truly made our day perfect. Their staff leading up to the wedding as well as the day of completely exceeded our expectations. I was amazed at their interior design and was completely stunned when I walked in the first time. The bar service was fun and always worked hard. The room was elegant and it truly was a dream come true. I would recommend this vendor to anyone looking for a magical day.
