Located in Purlear, NC, Wonderlust Acres is a rural wedding venue nestled in the Wilkes County mountains. Defined by its tranquil vibe, this rustic getaway is perfect for soon-to-be newlyweds who desire to tie the knot in an intimate setting. A romantic oasis where scenes of natural beauty abound, the property has been delighting visitors for many years. You and your guests will surely be struck by its combination of scenic allure and historic charm. With a selection of event spaces for you to choose from, this retreat invites you to pledge your love amid its picturesque acres. To allow guests to unwind stress-free, the owner sets this venue apart by allowing only 1 event/weekend, so once it is booked even for the day, rest assured you will not be wrestling for time with other events the same weekend, and couples will have plenty of time for rehearsal dinners the night before! Recently designed and built in 2020, Wonderlust Acres functioned as a farm (with the original 1920 farmhouse still on site) for many years before it was transformed into the wedding venue that couples adore today. You can host your celebration in the stunning Wonderbarn; the venue’s flagship event space. Characterized by its 3,000+ sqft timber-frame structure, this barn evokes a warm and homespun atmosphere that is sure to impress your guests. It features several nods to its agricultural heritage, such as the wagon-wheel chandeliers and stone hearth. The large glass garage-bay doors make it easy for you to move between the interior and the 720 square-foot patio. From your “I do” moment to dancing with your guests, this room can accommodate every part of your big day. Smaller occasions can take place at the Lakeside Pavilion and Dock, a waterside setting that boasts an eye-catching woodland backdrop, and larger crowds are easily accommodated on numerous picturesque grassy creekside sites. Wonderlust Acres can receive a maximum of 200 guests. A series of rental options are available, from the Weekday Lakeside Dock and Pavilion Rental to the Weekender. The latter package includes a comprehensive set of features, including exclusive access to the entire property from Friday to Sunday. This option also allows you and a small number of your loved ones to make use of the lodging facilities, these include the farmhouse and glamping sites. Further amenities consist of an oversized parking lot, get-ready rooms, ADA compliant bathrooms, and a kitchen.
